Please read the full write-up! (top link) for more in-depth insights on the testing setup used in this video... Wow, I've been super-impressed with the TriggerTech Special for the Remington 700. In this video I go in-depth with this trigger by putting it on the DVORAK Instruments Trigger Scan TS-11 laboratory trigger profiling system. For comparison, I also include Trigger Scan results for my Winchester Model 70 Rifle with Rifle Basix Trigger.

Old guy here. Just installed this on my Model 700 PCR. Absolutely love it. Easily took half an MOA off my groups with my lower end practice load. If you have a factory trigger, consider this one.

Nice video Gavin. It seems like the things I am looking for lately you seem to be covering, or have covered in the past. Great job.

Now that is what I would call a consistent trigger pull. As an engineer, I can appreciate that graph!

That's one consistent trigger. I'd love to see more of these. I'd like to see a standard ar trigger vs some premium ones. An ar trigger run off if you will. Glock triggers too. We need to develop some data, knowledge and common language we can use as a community when talking about all these aftermarket triggers. You could play a big part in that. All these aftermarket trigger options are sort of a new phenomenon in the industry. The days of the custom trigger job are sunsetting. Our language and knowledge as a community has become inadequate to describe all the choices we have. Let's change that.

This is a great video and this technology really demonstrates how consistent this trigger is which can’t be done with hand held trigger pull gauges. It also explains why how there is a difference in the feel and break among different triggers and it does so visually and objectively, not depending solely on the subjective feel . Can you do a similar comparison on two stage triggers such as the Trigger Tech Special and the B&A TacSport ? It’s hard for a shooter to choose a trigger based on limited information that’s available and it’s difficult to find rifles to try with different trigger options most of the time. This could be very helpful since feel is so subjective and different for everyone. Thanks for another great video!😀👍

2:03 I've always wondered why people who are testing the trigger pull the bolt back instead of just lifting it up and then lowering it down without the pull back. It's not like you need to chamber a new round?

Would sure love to see more data on various other triggers. It would be interesting to see how a comparable Timney performs compared to the TT. I'm on the fence at the moment between a Timney and a TT (but I want 2-stage)....

Nice work!! I love that trigger analysis software and data collection tool. Here’s the question everyone wants to ask: When will you do a competitive trigger manufacture comparison for a given action? Which gunmaker provides the best out-of-box trigger system?

Gavin who makes that trigger pull gauge and data that looks very expensive just curious on who makes that? And what the price tag is? Thanks buddy.
@Ultimatereloader
@Ultimatereloader 5 жыл бұрын
It's made by DVORAK Instruments, and is considered the industry standard trigger profiling tool. Here's the link : www.dvorakinstruments.com/Products/TriggerScan-System.asp - it's not cheap, and they don't list the price because they are made to order. (in the thousands of dollars range :) ).

Agreed- the true test is when you're behind the rifle looking at a target that's 8" square at 600 yards. And the rifle doesn't move when you pull the trigger.
