Maia's merch WAS super tacky though. It had nothing to do with Maia, and it didn't say anything about the babies anyway, who wants to wear a shirt that says SCOTCH and VODKA, and then explain to people that it's baby nicknames? It's weird. It's just a strange idea for merch. And Maia has been problematic, I won't go into it because I don't want her fans coming for me in the comments but you can find many of the issues in her subreddit.

Maia has said tiktok does a good job of filtering hate comments. So it might look like she gets less hate than she actually does.

I was also okay. it happens, not everybody posts about it. you'd be surprised how many symptoms are common for woman during pregnancy 🙄 .....one woman falls and throws up so no one else can???? I had almost the exact same thing happen to me during my last pregnancy. I was like 15 weeks & was walking downstairs with my older kids' bedding & slipped & fell all the way down the stairs. Had a huge bruise. Threw up after. The whole nine. I am NOT a fan of Trisha, but this is not something I think she is lying about 🤷🏻‍♀️

This is JUST MY OPINION but Maia is completely different than other family channels. All she does is post cute 60 second videos of her kids like their outfits or them just smiling while she’s talking to them. She’s not exploiting them. Exploiting would be like the ace family where the post things about their children that should be kept private and things that could be found humiliating in the future. I don’t find an issues with posting your child. It’s honestly what you posts that’s important.

honestly, maybe trisha freaked out when she first fell down while pregnant. maybe afterwards, she looked up videos to see if it happened to anyone else and the outcome. Maybe she watched colleen’s video. And after she realized the baby would be okay, she decided to share. Trisha has wanted a child for so long, that with the struggles she faced; falling, tripping, literally any event that carries an ounce of caution, is TERRIFYING. I’m not even a Trisha stan, but the lengths people will go to in order to bash Trisha ANYY way they can, is insane and kinda obsessive at this point.

As someone who was recently pregnant my story is similar to colleen and trishas 🤷🏽‍♀️. I was pregnant and i lost my footing but i guess i automatically reached for the railing but for sure i know i did my best to land on my butt and not on my belly and i missed the railing and got an ugly bruise on my arm and my shin as well. Its hard to articulate but the bruises for sure told me that i reached for the railing and missed and my stairs are wooden.

I don't see Colleen as a family channel. Her content revolves around her life, which happens to also include being a Mom. The difference between content like Colleens and channels like OKbaby, Ace family and all the ace family copies, is that ace family centers the theme of the content around the children, whereas Colleen makes content about her life from her POV and it's broken up by clips of her children sometimes. Before the birth of the twins, Flynn wasn't in every single vlog and when he is, it's a small portion, typically something cute he has done or said. If you took Flynn out of the vlogs, they would still have substance and people would still watch because her viewers are there to follow her vlogging her life. She was a established internet personality prior to having children and removing the clips of Flynn or the babies, wouldn't impact her content negatively. I also think having babies in content, isn't as problematic as having them in the content as they get older. Yes, her twins are in the vlogs and thumbnails but it's because her life revolves around the twins and her viewers have followed her entire pregnancy and Nicu journey. The kids are not the main focus of her vlogs, they aren't the primary focus and it doesn't feel exploitative to me, like the ace family and channels like OKbaby are. I can't stand family channels, but I do enjoy colleens vlog channel. I'm raising my niece and she is the same age as Flynn. I have become that annoying person who thinks everything she does and says is adorable and I imagine, if I was already established in content creating, I could see wanting to share something hilarious that she said or did. For the people who don't watch her content, there are a couple minutes of content where she is doing something with Flynn and then it cuts back to her vlogging and talking about her life and her day. At this point, being a mom of twin babies, it would be incredibly challenging to NOT have the babies in the content at some point but they are rarely the primary focus and I imagine as all the kids grow older, they will be seen less and less. But the majority of "family channels" are awful and are clearly using their kids to make money, they are channels that wouldn't get views if they weren't showing their children and typically the videos revolve around the children and not the parent. Colleens vlogs revolve around her life, and one aspect of that happens to be motherhood. I do think there is a difference
