My recommendation for German - do not use Duolingo, it doesn't explain the grammar concepts well enough! Nouns will change depending on what they are doing in the sentence, and then can change just based off prepositions.

I like the way you ended this vlog. Gratitude is so important; that's something I learned in Al-Anon (my father was an alcoholic). I got into the habit of running through a gratitude list every morning when I do my meditations - I find that that helps me.

hallo, Tristan! Deiner "Deutsche Sparchung" geht schon besser! My keyboard doesn't have the requisite umlaut, unfortunately, but i do applaud your progress in speaking the German language. Just remember this one classic rule: for the most part, you need to pronounce EVERY letter you see! So, simple example: "rose" is pronounced "ro-se"! Also, genug; Ich hoffe es, dass alles fur Dir gut geht!

There is an ISO Standard for umlauts and all other accent marks used in languages throughout the world. You can also download this information for future use. And for other situations one may use the "e" after the vowel that is to be umlauted, although this does give some awkward spellings. So ä=ae; ö=oe; ü=ue. stackoverflow.com/questions/4618820/will-iso-8859-1-display-german-umlauts-ok-or-do-i-need-to-use-utf-8, this article explains how to use the ISO Standards, if you do not have a MAC OSX Computer.
