Triumph Tiger 800 Vs. BMW R1250GS | middle weight vs. heavy weight

Wanted to do a comparison of middle weight vs heavy weight Adventure motorcycles on here for some time. After upgrading from my Triumph Tiger 800 (2011 model) to the R1250GS I have noticed a huge change. I feel so much more confident and secure on this big bike. I know many people asked for a video talking about my thoughts.... So here they are.
The GS is such a wonder. It really does preform like a much smaller bike. BMW really has done a great job to take a touring motorcycle and make it a great all arounder.

How do you feel about the rider ergonomics? I have a Tiger 800xc and looking for bigger bikes to get some more comfort, but at 1.88cm tall, everything i seat on seems too cramped compared to thhe tiger. How does the 1250gsa feels compares to the tiger for a tall person?

I totally get you. I felt that sometimes on the Tiger. Of course the newer Tigers felt more spacious to me. The 1250 GS and GSA of course are the same just with different tanks. They are luxury tourers. In the adventure segment the comfort is second to none. I found KTMS to always feel funny. They just don’t fit me well. That goes for their dirtbikes also. On long rides I can rest my legs on the boxer engine and stretch out for a bit.

I’ve had both, tiger 800 xca much better than my bmw gsa for off-road neither is great but the tiger is streets ahead of the gsa.

GSA is definitely a big bike for off-roading. 800xca would def be a better offroader.

Thanks for reply I watched an old guy on a royal enfield Himalayan on a single track gravel and dried mud and do you know I thought it handled very well and when he told me the price I was astounded how it was fitted out for that price. Just one other point maybe we don’t have high winds in the UK but sorry I found the tiger no probs at all on m way roads in strong winds. Sorry to say I would not go back to bmw I glad I sold it.

American Abroad my friend, unfortunately I contracted prostate cancer, but I seem to have survived ( for now) but the after effects leave you less than whole, well neutered to be polite. So my little tiger 800 has been relegated to short trips I do live in the North of UK and within an hour or two’s riding we have the Scottish Borders and the Cheviot hills with some relatively easy tracks so that’s my lot so to speak.
