I came across that slippery Bylong Valley causeway a couple of months ago on my Tiger 900 GtPro. Two bikes had already gone down (a Triumph American and a Bonneville). The riders waved me down and then helped walk my bike over the slippery surface. It was like ice. Very dangerous really and I appreciated the help of 2 other Triumph riders. Thanks for the vids. Love your work.

Thanks for the comment. Yep that weir surprised me, it looked pretty good but it was like a greased ball bearing!

Great footage. I was there on the weekend to and from Orange, always love it even if sections of the road suck. I was in my 4wd but often go on my Tiger 1050 Sport…enjoy your videos ✌🏼

There's some nice side roads on the way up to Rylstone; right hand turn at Capertee then up to Glen Alice and then Rylstone, there's never any police presence on this route plus it has a decent surface and lots of twisties. I see that the causeway over the Growee River has been fixed. It still might have given you a pucker but when I went through before Christmas it was just a horrible set of potholes. All of the roads I've been on recently have been pretty chopped up, the woodenbong and Mullumbimby areas are shockers. There are, however , plenty of road crews out so things will get better. Lastly, official fuel consumption figures for the GT Pro are 5.2l/100km. I see yours at 4.85, was that for just this trip? I've got an average of 4.5 over 8000km of touring so I'm pretty impressed. There's always 380km range on a total fill which is pretty decent. Fuel light gives you 100km range and I've found that to be pretty accurate. I'm enjoying your vids, looking forward to your next trip. What's the destination?

Hi mate, that 4.85 l/100 is the long term average. I found a bit of a bug with it that it stops updating once the trip duration is 99.99 hours. I’m pretty happy with the fuel efficiency considering how powerful and fast it is, and also a fair bit of off-roading mixed in with that. Thanks for the tips with the side tracks, never enough time to explore everywhere you want to! I’m still finalising the itinerary for next weeks ride, so I’ll keep it a surprise for now :-) should be good though

I have a 2023 Tiger 900 Rally Pro and a brand new InReach Mini2 I'm figuring out myself too. Great video!! My dang mileage however is only 37.5/mpg. No idea what that converts to you down there, but most riders I know are getting 47, 48 50 /MPG. far better than me and no clue as to why??!! Super irritating however . Good info about the 10% safety margin. I've found similar also.

I get 4.85 l/100km which is exactly 48.5mpg, pretty much what you’ve seen elsewhere. Is your bike still low mileage (pre first service)? Fuel quality OK? Maybe worth resetting the fuel counter (press and hold the stalk when on the fuel screen) to clear any earlier high usage

@@australianadv Yes still low mileage, had the first service already also. I've added lower and upper guards, bashplate and side pannier racks..but ...the poor gas mileage was pretty much the same BEFORE I added that stuff. I can only do 150miles per tank...which, was not the plan for ADV riding in Baja and the BDRs of SoCal and other places. Not sure what needs to happen but, my 12 yr old Kawasaki Vulcan gets that same mileage. Was expecting far better from a lighter and newer and better bike. I"ll try you're good idea of clearing the gas mileage.

@@kee7678 Those additions shouldn’t make much difference, the weight matters less than drag, and with just the racks there’s not much extra drag. If your tire pressure is normal it sounds like engine related, fuelling or valves or Something like that. Definitely have a word with the dealer

@@lukeadv Hmmm. I spoke the the dealer salesman. "hmmm, yeah bring it in, it should be better than that". Then with my new tires being put on (50/50s) the service mgr goes "37? Tha'ts good man". ???? then they said, it normally gets better as it breaks in a bit. That was 1000 miles ago... ??

Hi mate, I didn’t notice much change to fuel economy when I switched to the TKC80s and they are 80/20, still getting around 4.8 litres/100km which is about 48mpg.

Nice vlog. Interesting to know what tyres you choose? I purchased TYRE 90/90T21 K60 HEIDENAU TYRE (Accessory) TYRE 15O/70TB17 K0 (RSA) HEIDENAU TYRE. When I picked up my Rally Pro Jun20. After winter put the original tyres back on. Notice the traction lights come on more with the 50/50 tyres 🙏

Do you find the speedo at 120KLMs is out by 10Klms?

It definitely is. I’ve run it with the phone mounted using Waze which shows the GPS calculated speed. When the bike says 120 it’s usually about 108-110 on Waze.
