I had the exact same reaction as you to Bryan’s death. I was deeply disturbed and emotional. A tv death has never affected me as much. They humanised Bryan so much and made you realise what a person would actually be like if they were begging for their life.

I think we can all agree that Marlene is not Sarah's mother since Joel said that they met after Tommy joined the fireflies, which is after the outbreak.

I appreciate how disturbed you were by Bryan's death, some reactors just brush that off. It was very affecting. Interesting how he said "what you did, you killed yourself" and then they kinda ended up taking the same approach with him.

Ellie grew up in a military school. She knows at least theoretically how and when to use a weapon with responsibility. But that doesn't mean she ever had a gun in her hand. Ellie dodged the question of whether she had hurt anyone before. That doesn't mean she killed anyone. There was talk of hurting people, not killing. Ellie didn't kill the boy either. One episode earlier, she tortured and killed an infected. One episode before, she asked Joel if it was hard for him to kill infected people, knowing that they were once human. I think she wanted to find out if there was anything human in this infected and that turned into anger when she killed him. I think it had a lot to do with Riley. She wanted to know if she still felt anything and was then angry at the infected who bit her when she stabbed him. I doupt she could actually kill Runner-Riley. I think Marlene did it. If she had killed Riley, I think she wouldn't have looked so shocked here with Bryan. Also interesting is the fact that the question Ellie asked in the car was only fully answered by Joel about his brother in the stairwell. Tommy always wanted to be a hero and do good. Joel told Ellie in the stairwell that he was on both sides with Tess and Tommy. So Tommy didn't just leave Joel for the Fireflys because Marlene recruited him, but because nothing good came out of robbing and killing innocent people. Joel portrays Tommy all the time as if Tommy needs him. In fact, Tommy knows exactly what he wants and where he can't find it. So the Fireflys also disappointed him. He didn't do any good with them either. Joel always says Tommy needs him. In fact, Joel seems to need him more than the other way around. Perry, Kathleen's right-hand man, is Tommy's voice actor in the game. Ashley Johnson and Troy Baker, who were in the game Ellie and Joel's voices, also get appearances on the show. The actress of Marlene, the leader of the Fireflys, plays the same role here as in the game.
