Amazing reaction to an amazing movie. I love watching people get sucked into the mystery! Rian Johnson is one of my favorite Writer/Directors working today! All of his stuff is so well thought out and entertaining. I even enjoyed The Last Jedi which a lot of people disliked. It's one of his weaker movies but still a really good movie with heart.

Very late to commenting on this but having watched the reaction to both this and Knives Out I want to really recommend Jonathan Creek, it's a UK TV series with intricate mysteries like these two films and it's a very satisfying watch. I'd really recommend it.

The actress portraying one of the nurses actually played a nurse in the same part of the game and played a major unrelated character in the other game.

Never seen anyone try to connect Marlene to Joel like that. We never got any info in the game regarding Sarah's mom or Ellie's dad either.

This is soooo creepy (I already know). I'd like to know you better, in a personal way, weather becomes a friendship or goes further or nowhere. Looks bad to even try trusting someone like I ask you to. I liked what I saw about you in the last of us reactions, intelligence, empathy, kindness. It's stupid from my part to even think about it, looks desperate as well. I don't know even if you're still looking for someone or even interested in some way. And there are some crazy stories about how people end up knowing each other. Just hope you read it. I wanna know what you think first. But if you'd like just give me a chance, just a try... Sounds crazy as F. I'm hearing myself. And just one more thing, in case you accept. I know you already exposed yourself in public with this channel, in some way. So you're in disadvantage because you don't know anything about me, could be a psycho XD (I am) And I don't want to post any personal contact or social media in this comment, maybe neither you. So, I'll suggest an anonymous mail now, and from there I can send you a telephone number. Tomorrow you'll wake up and say, what's this wirdo tinder thing this crazy guy just did? Ok, I hope you don't ban me for this crazy comment from your channel. I love your reactions, still didn't watch your House of the dragon reactions. Those will be next. Have a nice day, despite the creepy feelings I could have given you. Bye

The giraffe is a mix of real and CGI! They filmed the up-close shots with Nabo (the giraffe😁) and the vfx artists blended it with CGI seemlessly! So cool they actually got to feed a giraffe 🦒

Joel confesses that the scar on his face was self-inflicted, he tried to end it all. Joel is the biggest infected of the series, at the moment Sarah died... Joel died with her. Ellie is the cure for all humanity, but at the same time is the only cure that exists to heal the wound that the loss of Sarah left in Joel. Joel is the great selfish of the series, and the love of a father is wonderful but can also be terrifying, because when you love someone that way you would be able to burn the world to protect that person. Joel could have saved humanity and decided not to, the world took everything from Joel, so Joel took everything from the world.

It is hinted of what they are eating from the very start when the girl ask when they can bury her father (Alec) and David says: The ground is to cold to dig.." When they prepare the food, the wife of Alec askes "What is it?", James hesitates and says "Venison". The scene after, David drops the deer in the room. The sounds when they are all eating are a bit to loud, making them a bit off, and when you see them eat: The people not knowing anything are starving, they get small portions and eats fast, James knows what he is eating so he takes tiny bits. David of course also knows, but he has the biggest bowl of food and he eats without a worry in the world. I had played the game so I knew from start. Its always fun to see reactors who hasn´t played the game. A part of me wish I never played the game, but in the same time, the game is an masterpiece! And I don´t regret a second of that gametime. 🤗

I am sure many will disagree but the way I see it, Joel HAD to lie to Ellie. He felt he had to protect Ellie because if he would have told her the truth then one of 2 things were bound to happen. Either she accepted the lie and forgave Joel making her live with the guilt of withholding the cure to mankind in exchange for her life, or just the opposite, not forgiving Joel for what he did, breaking off their father, daughter relationship, and possibly losing another daughter as Ellie would try to return to Salt Lake City and sacrifice her life for the mere chance that the cure might be successful. Joel couldn't allow that to happen. In his mind he was protecting her from taking that chance. From again losing the one person that meant so much to him. Yes, Joel ultimately sacrificed himself for the sinns he committed, but at least he and Ellie got a chance to live those 4 to 5 years together in relative piece and enjoy a little happiness together. As a father that has lost my first child... I would have done the same!

Joel didn't commit any sins. He killed people in the act or murdering a child. I, personally, would "forgive" someone for moving heaven and Earth to save my life.

It's interesting with predictions... but why such an urge to predict things. It's so much more enriching and enjoyable to let a story play out before you. But, I hope you're right more than you are wrong in life... even if you lose your joy at pure, happy, surprise (let more giraffes happen in your life - BTW, the giraffe was real) This was a great reaction with really great commentary all twisted up in the ethical dalema the season leaves us in afterward. Thank You!

Actually Ellie kinda knows that he is lying and she is smart. She has this bullshit detector very strong on Joel. But she suspects that he killed everyone and get her outta there but not the details. She forced herself to believe for loving him but I think she did not believe. And Marlene was not wrong at all, she even gave Joel a chance to survive cause she knew he was gonna do something. Just by her look when he said "I do". So in her eyes she kinda agreed with Joel and that is why she didn't even guarded him with more Fireflies. If I was a father I would do it all over again and again and again. I would KILL the whole fucking world for my child. But if I was someone who just wanted a world without brothers killing their selves and no more child dying in front of their parents or a loved one left behind for the infected... if I was someone like Ellie I would never forgive Joel. At least not in a long time. I get the two of them and it is hard but pointless to debate haha because in the end I dont even think Ellie would have a say if they asked her. Would you accept a no for an answer when you could possibly CURE the entire world from this nightmare that stayed like this for 20 years?? Being a child with doctors and lots of fireflies that probably did a lot to survive too. Everyone has a family. Marlene telling Ellie about her dying wouldn't make any difference at all, but she would give her life for humanity for sure. So its pointless but fascinating at the same time for debate. Most people dont think on Ellie's side of that. Season 2 will be torture and I will LOVE IT! Hahaha Also Joel was just walking in the end because he KNEW that what he's just done was really fucked up. He was dissociating because of every trauma he's had in his life before...

1) To everyone's' dismay, there was only one infected in this episode... in a backstory in the beginning of the episode XD but the infected were never really the focus of this series. 2) My prediction for S2 is that it will be a backstory to the second game -- I think this is confirmed by HBO or the writers? -- and that Ellie will finally get the truth out of Joel by the last episode, this would make beautiful narrative sense as this season ends on a big lie, while the next season ends on the big lie being popped.
