Tudor Black Bay Bracelet Secret Hack - how to remove the last link at 6 o'clock side

Revisiting my Tudor Black Bay review with a tip on how to improve the fit of the bracelet.
I mentioned in my review video that the last link on 6 o'clock side is not removable and this turned out to be false.

A viewer on my channel (Muscle Mania) wrote in to tell me that there is a neat trick to remove that last link. Here is my video on how to go about doing that.
This brings to the number of removable links on the black bay to six, and I must say this is very helpful to people who have smaller wrist.
That said, I stand firm on the Black Bay 41's poor wearability. Unless you're The Rock Dwayne Johnson, it's way too blocky, tall and heavy to be comfortable as a daily watch. I think the BB58 is the only option here.

Found this video in June 2024 for my new monochrome. That was the fix I needed! I added a half link from Uncle Seiko, swapped it to the 6 side and voila!

Thanks! I have a Black Bay GMT and was extremely disappointed with the amount of removable links and micro adjustment holes. After doing what you’ve done, I’ll be wearing it a lot more now it fits a lot better.

Thank you! I bought my GMT almost three years ago and have lived with a loose fit. Your video explained the process very well. My watch now fits perfectly. I will also use this on my Chrono bracelet.

That was a very good step by step tutorial my friend, i hope it will help other black bay owners out there with small wrist like you and i :). When i bought mine, my ad was sizing my watch and he said the samething “theres nothing we can do, your wrist is a bit too small” lol so i went home start playing around with it..cheers budd, good video 😉

Thank you so much for this advice and also a very detailed but simple to follow video demonstration. I’ve owned my Tudor GMT for a few days now and it was really annoying me how uncomfortable it was as the clasp was not centred. I followed your advice and it now sits perfectly in my wrist and is infinitely more comfortable. Not to exaggerate but I really do think you have saved my watch! Brilliant stuff, thank you.

In all honesty, I am not the first person on the internet to talk about this hack, but I thought it’d help people out there with bracelet sizing issues. So happy that the video helped you. I believe Tudor has since upped their game with new clasps with some sort of “glidelock” system. It’s been seen on the newest bronze model. Pretty sure they will add this feature at some point across their watches.

Me too! Love the GMT (especially my Opaline) and don't feel it wears big. I have the BB58 too and love them both equally.

I’ve owned five 41mm Black Bays and have variously worn them on Tudor bracelets, Tudor fabric and leather straps, and on normal NATOs too. I agree that on a bracelet, the watch is too heavy. But on a normal NATO strap or a Tudor leather deployant it wears really well. I’m wearing one of the new 39mm blue dial + blue bezel Raven Trekkers today. It wears very much like a BB58 and on a bracelet, it’s perfect. But in comparison to contemporary dive watch trends, it is a smallish watch. Hope this is of some help to anyone trying to decide between 39 or 41. Just my thoughts.

Hello Colm, great sharing. I’m sure your thoughts are helpful to would-be buyers of these Tudors. Would you tell us what your wrist size is? I think this is a very important factor when choosing between the BB58 and the original BB. As stated in my videos, I really think sub-7inch wrists should look at BB58. The BB Originals are nice watches, and great prices on used market here, but you’d need rugby player wrist to wear them.

I think the BB54 has the new T-fit clasp. You might not need this hack.

Could I replace the link with the Uncle Seiko half link?

Replacing a half-link may or may not solve the problem. I use a Uncle Seiko half-link to get a better fit on the BB58. But for this particular Black Bay 41, I simply had to remove that one last link.

using a wrong style screwdriver. Tudor and rolex use T-Slot screwdrivers. You are using a chisel point screwdriver (this is what we most know as a normal flat head). T slot fit perfect in the screws to provide more torque and zero slipping or stripping of the screw. the exact size needed for the blackbay is a T-Slot 1.40mm screwdriver.
