That's a lot of tuna, but still i never imagined you could theoretically get mercury poisoning from eating a theoretically possible ammount of tuna. I mean that's still over 2 tons a day so it's more than i can possibly stomach myself but i still find it crazy.

I ate far less fish and seafood than him and let me say this...functional medicine doctor found me 25% over max levels of mercury. I was only eating about 2-4 larger portions of fish a week at a body weight of 240lbs. He told me to stop the seafood and bam in 3months I was mid range. However blood levels do not indicate mercury tissue levels. I was good for 3 years and a while back I was eating 3-4 small seared tuna steaks a week...bam mercury went right back up withing a few months. Salmon is supposed to be low mercury...well that is what dd it the first time. Know of a woman who went right nutty due o mercury poisoning from eating freshwater northern Canadian pickerel. The issues are real. Sadly we have poisoned our waters to this extent now.

We haven’t poisoned the waters with mercury. It’s naturally produced by fish. Yes, we’ve polluted the waters in other ways but not this.

@@shelfcloud487 I respectfully suggest you do a little research.I will only very briefly touch on this here. I have been involved in fitness and work with many top doctors treating top athletes and celebrities.I also have run charter boats in The great Lakes for many years. We were well versed in the pollution issues in our salmon and other species. I also fish oceans personally. Mercury exists naturally in the world, however, the high count in fish is nothing to do with natural production. It is usually due to pollution. Many freshwater fish are high in mercury due to direct environmental mercury contamination from pulp and paper mills. Multiple industries worldwide cause airborne mercury. Fish end up accumulating mercury from the species they feed on. The larger fish that live the longest and eat the most bio accumulate mercury. We have increased mercury in air due to multiple sources of contamination which makes it's way into the water as does land based contamination. Thus causing issues at all levels of the food chain. Can't put Niagara Falls into a bucket but many are very unaware of the contaminant levels in our fish due to humans. A lifetime around the water and fishing really opens ones eyes. At least industry is better with dioxin now.

To remark on your last comment. I don’t get the obsession with building muscle to the extent bodybuilders do. There’s no benefit in being that big. None whatsoever. It’s much healthier to be functionally strong which doesn’t require size. I’m 5’6” 175lbs &
