The use of the white paint is a classic engraver's method of highlighting the image as the piece is worked. Nice to see that common acrylic spray paint can be used the same was as the engraver's white oil paint! :-)

Speechless. I would definitely be in my own workshop, creating beautiful pieces, instead of a 9-5 if I had a talent like that! Awesomeness!

Wonderful video. I have a dremel and am terrified of it. Had to smile at you using your knee as a table :-) You have inspired me to have a go with the cutting wheel now. It won't be on my knee though..
7 жыл бұрын
angelicinspirations Thanks. Cut off wheels works like grinding stones, those remove material with friction. So, those ain't so dangerous than saw blade's are. I also use slow rpm ( if you look the video, there's no sparks), so if the wheel slips it hardly makes a mark to my trousers. Of course its good to be carefull, but its not so dangerous as it looks. Those wheels usually break if hit something.

angelicinspirations You're welcome. But, also know that with full speed situtation is whole different. 😊 So, its good to be carefull, even there's no need to be afraid.

i have a dremel but I try to used but I love engraving in metals can you tell me what told I should use to engraving metal?

Tungsten carbide cutters or diamond wheel points. Tungsten carbide cutters are better if you want to make deeper engraving. Diamonds for "etching" the surface, or finishing / fixing engravings made with tungsten carbide cutters. Materials hardens from friction, alumine, brass, copper and stainless steel, hardens easier than mild steel. Using wax ( that dremels red polishing wax works too) to cool the bit helps. Dip spinning bit to the wax after couple minutes of engraving, that avoinds bit to get stucked. Specially alumine can easily fill teehts on tungsten carbide cutters. I use 10-15k rpm with soft materials, 15-20k rpm with mild steel.

Another simple spoon into a beautiful piece of art. I see you still have your 'Drilling' stool ;0 PLEASE Tuomas, I am concerned for you. Think a little bit about your safety, maybe a piece of leather over your knee to protect against sharp cutting bits and maybe use the pliers to hold the work when using your mini torch. It would be a shame to loose your talent and abilities from a foolish incident.
7 жыл бұрын
Peter Compton Thanks Peter. No worries mate! Actually i don't use pliers because then i feel when spoon starts to get too hot. Also those type of cut off wheels usually broke if slipped and hit somerhing, and those doesn't cut skin very well. So, it makes just a little scratc if something. I work everyday with hot / melt steel at work, heavy materials.. I allready have some nice "marks" to my shoulders and arms from splashed hot steel... After twenty years im used to thoses little scratches. Of course im carefull, but i know what i need to afraid. 😁 ( circular saw's are scary)
