Turn Off The Engine!!! | Miami Boat Ramps | Black Point | Wavy Boats | Broncos Guru
Welcome to the Miami Boat Ramps channel. We are dedicated to bringing you all the craziness that goes on at the boat ramps in South Florida! Sit back and enjoy the show!
Ramps we currently cover: 79st (La 79!) / Black Point Marina / Haulover
We are working on adding 2 more ramps to the roster. Stay tuned!
Don't forget to hit the like button, subscribe and leave us a comment. If you don't, we're coming to steal your drain plug!

Disclaimer : We receive a ton of emails and messages from people telling us we filmed them at the ramp this past weekend and they want to know when the video will air. This is not a question we can typically answer. We film from three or more ramps every week and have a massive back log of content and sometime it could be weeks or months after an event occurs before we air the video. We put stuff out as fast as we can but we only air three videos a week and in a typical weekend get 6-10 episodes worth of content meaning we get content faster then we can air it. Thanks for watching and just be sure to keep watching looking for your content it will air but probably not immediately after it happens!

It's that time of year where us inlanders have to watch these videos to see boating. 😔 Glad you share these.

She dropped the stern line without securing it before catching the bow line! I’m guessing it’s her first time on a boat.

A couple of those motors were blowing enough smoke to look like two-strokes. Time for a rebuild/refresh...

99% sure that older Merc IS a 2stroke. My '88 Johnson 225 is a 2-stroke. in 1995, Mercury’s OptiMax was a lead bull in the manufacturers’ stampede toward cleaner two-stroke engines. In May 2018, Mercury Marine discontinued manufacturing all of its 2-stroke engines, commonly called the OptiMax series.

Please educate me. If the current is moving from left to right why wouldn't somebody just let the current drift them into the dock on the right or starboard side? Is that what people do now, is buy an awesome stereo system and then get a boat to mount to it?! :-)
@werberderber6209

that is the best way to do it, alot of people don't know that becuse they have not taken a boater safety course or no one has taught them that, another way if you have to do is bring the bow in first, tie off the bow with alot of slack, turn the outdrive/outboard motor toward the dock and slowly back up, it will draw thw boat into the dock, tie off the back and your done. If I am by myself or have inexperienced people with me I use the center cleat, come in slow like always and loop the rope around the pole or cleat on the dock and pull myself in.

Adding to what Werber Derber has said, the person bringing the tow vehicle has to get in the corresponding lane. I've seen captains who do it right, but their loading vehicle lines up on the wrong dock. You are using common sense, and it is not so common on the water.

Smoking exhaust, though. I'd love to see someone retrofit an old SeaRay with new engines and outdrives. Especially a Pachanga. The twin engine version. The problem is that the holes in the hull for the outdrives are not the same size or in the exact same location for current generation engines and outdrives. It would be a real challenge, but worth it.

Why is it "toast"? You must not be too familiar with 2-strokes, or as they sometimes get called 2-smokes.

Serious question. Is there any reason once you have the bow line tied off and the stern kicks out, nobody turns into the dock and gently reverses,pulling the stern in? That’s what we do at the lake. Never see that on this channel.

Jeff is correct, and these folks are dealing with a current. Current changes everything. I approach a dock like a plane approaching an airfield. I do a lot of "crab walking" to get myself lined up with the dock, and then slip in like a pro, when I do it right.

@@3-2-1-. I mainly boat on the missouri river, we have a 12 to 15 MPH current (avg) to contend with, I use to trailer the boat in these currents, the trick is to point your bow in to the current, slowly crab walk towards the trailer then turn into the trailer, I now have a slip and lift in a marina, makes it alot easier, but when it comes to the current you just have to look at what direction it is going and use it to your advantage. Also on the river we beach our boats on sandbars where there might be a bunch of other boats and hang out, we don't have these kind of issues.
