Always hated going to the scrappy. Always been a bit lazy with leaving cables. Might help keep the van clean as well.Great service

Great idea. Green Cable have been doing the rounds on YT. Bear in mind that they deduct a fee to cover the cost of the bin from your first collection. I believe it's £20 at time of writing.

Absolutely right. £19.50 to cover the cost of delivering a bin in the first place, but we'll waive this if there's material ready to collect at the point of delivery 😎

It’s surprising the price difference you get between different scrapyards. Always worth checking. Also check the rate monthly. It can make a big difference it you sell at the wrong time . Why are these guys talking distance in kilometres when we use miles

If you put that bin on my site with copper, it would be chored in seconds. The whole bin would be put in the back of a van and scrapped on a half hour lunch break. 😂😂

The advice is always to keep in a secure place (out bin has the logo on regular ones don’t)

Why don't you supply a multi section bin, similar to the rectangular waste bins that have segregation? You could easily supply the more frequent customers with these bins and keep the regular cable bins to lesser frequent customers :)

Great idea, another potential revenue stream for Sparks at weekends. Wire a job during the week, charge for the 1st fix. Rob the cable on a saturday night, sell the scrap and then charge the same client for a 2nd 1st fix.

You may be surprised indeed. Most customers report that they get the same price as their local scrap yard, sometimes better. Especially when you factor in the time and hassle saving. Time is money remember!

@@supersparks9466 We're paying £2.10. The average wheelie bin weighs around 70-80kg when filled with cable, so you'd be getting £7-8 less using Greencable on a ~£150 cash in. No brainer!

@@james.telfer Yep those would both definitely help. As well as perhaps a commitment to check the loads and raise queries (or just terminate?) if things like chunky DC charger cables are found for a company/trader who doesn't do that sort of work...
