The guy with the cap has been around the block a couple times. He really knows his stuff. It's a pleasure to watch expert craftsmen with meager resources skillfully turn basically junk into very useful everyday items that will last for generations. I own an axe about 120 years old crafted for my grandpa, inherited by my father and now used by me. It is one of my most cherished possessions, even if i own several chainsaws. That axe doesn't come a dime a dozen, no inox nonsense, always razor sharp. This "messer" here will be still around long after all this Corona shebang is forgotten.

This is true craftmanship - being able to turn scrap metal into something beautyfull, usefull and strong....most of what ive seen cant even quench a piece of steel without knowing what kind of steel it is ( atomic structure) and this guy not only gets everything quenched but it gets it hardened without warping, bending or cracking the steel......and no special tools also.... This is a valuable man for society and deserves respect and honour....

I was a chef for over 20 years and I’d be proud to use that knife for butchery. Great shape, balance, hardening and looks the weight is spot on too. But best of all a wooden handle, I hate those metal moulded handles that look like they’d slip out of your hand once you got blood on them. I’d more than happily buy one. I was really impressed with his homemade power hammer, what was wrong with it please? A really enjoyable video.

Beautiful, take a piece of scrap metal and turn it into a wonderful knife . You make it look easy , but it takes so much craftsmanship to do this . I hope that the men standing around ,watching you , appreciate the work that went into this .

No, he does not watch other videos for the ideas. He learnt the skill from his father. He only has a few looks of the knife styles before he starts to make them.
