Turning the subscription counter into a clock

Many of you have asked if you can turn the counter into a clock. Spoiler alert, yes, it's pretty simple. Here is a video explaining how to program the ESP-01 via the Arduino IDE.

I was already printing away on the parts to make the counter and knew the clock conversion would come out since so many people were asking about it. I did my segments first and printed in two colors, I used WYZWORKS Fluorescent Green for the first four layers (0.2mm layers) and Hatchbox Black for the rest of it. It's the only color I found so far that still really pops with the black behind it. Plus it really shines when you hit it with UV. I've tried red, orange and yellow but the colors just don't stay bright enough for my liking once I switch over to the black. I did order some WYZWORKS Fluorescent Orange and Yellow but haven't tried them as yet. Thank you so much for sharing this project! Really looking forward to finishing this project!

Do you have written programming instructions? I am trying to program with AVR Studio using segments_avr_firmware from Github. Everything appears to compile correctly and uploads but once it is plugged in it doesn't appear to be doing anything. Voltages on the board look good in all the right places. Just seems like the code isn't executing. No LED on mainboard but it tests fine by hand. Maybe I'm not doing something correctly when I am compiling/uploading? I see the blue LED flicker every 5 seconds on the ESP8266 so I think that is working okay.

hmm I by files to print, there is a way for a cheaper pcb, you have to use the spi multiplexer to finish the motor slightly (one motor and one multiplexer), soon I will design pcb

I'm definitely going to make a clock from these. They are amazing. I will be purchasing a 3d printer very soon but I cannot make up my mind on whether to buy an Creality Ender 3 or the Anycubic i3 Mega - S. Has anyone had experience with both and could provide their opinions?? I was leaning towards the Anycubic, because I like the basic assembly aspect. The design of the gantry seems more solid with 2 Z-axis drives. But Creality has a much larger online community and heaps of cool mods and such to make.

You may get more replies if you post this question on a channel that concentrates more on 3d printing related videos - like Thomas Sanladerer's - but it's the internet, so you're likely to get conflicting advice from entrenched groups of owners of each and every printer on the market.

Hi: I bought your 7-segment design on cults3D, it was a fantastic job! Just a quick question, while following your instructions and printed every parts, I found that my segment doesn't come back to original up right position, neither would it fully go to flat position. It seems like a problem caused by the spring. Any suggestions?

Sounds like you may have too much slop in the system. Make sure your pins/nails are a snug fit for the holes. They should snuggly fit without a lot of backlash.
