MD2020 fuel injector check part 1/2 - disassembly

According to the Volvo Penta manual you must check your injection nozzels every 400 hour or 2. year. My engine has 800 hours on it's clock and the nozzels has never ben checked.
I have made two parts so the videos don't get to long, the second part is regarding the installation.

My MD2020 is turning 20 yrs now - the injectors has probably never been checked and now. I see more soot from the exhaustion pipe. It’s time to check. Thank you so much for your videos, Tino❗️

Very good explanation, thank you for the video. I met a cruiser who had the problem of the engine oil increasing on a Sirius. We had no idea that was potentially the cause. This will be good reference for when I do mine.

The fuel can also enter the engine at the fuelpump, if the pump is leaking on the inside into the engine block. Regarding the injectors a good tip is to check your exhaust elbow, if there is a lot of carbon buildup your injectors need service.

Wow, you are still allowed to work on your boat in the corona cises ? You are a lucky one. Or maybe this is an old video ;) For me it is fobidden at all !! However, keep on going to show us your great boad work, and stay healthy !!!

Everything around the boat club is shut down but people can still work on their boats. People also keep distance from each other in these times and by working inside the boat I don't meet any people. I have some pre recorded video but most of it is new.

great Tino! looking forward to next video. Btw,Did the shop tell you if the nozzles where way of. or just cleaning? Another thing, have you checked the exhaust bend. Mine was cracked by corrosion,engine hours same as yours. I have a photo of the crack but I cant put it in here😒

The nozzles was ok but more about that in the next video. Yes the exhaust bend will get eaten away of rust over time, but my exhaust bend is still ok. Also check the silencer which is known for leaks due to corrosion.

Great vid. Thx. But do I even have to check nozzles if engine fires up quickly at cold temperatures?

If the compression is good I think it will start no matter what. You can try to check the exhaust elbow, if you see a lot of soot or carbon buildup you have a nozzle problem, if the exhaust elbow is nice and "clean" I think there is no need to make a injection nozzle check.

So, did the injectors needed adjustment? Or were they in good shape? Mine (VP 2003) are 25 years old and never checked, engine runs fine, starts easy at subzero temperatures.

No the injectors didn't need ajustment.
