Is it possible to program anything those VGM files can do on the Blast Beats itself? Or are there sound programming limitations the VGM files can ignore?

Thanks for watching the video. This video is from the special VGM file playback mode in Ver. 2.8. BlastBeats cannot play or create VGM files during normal startup. Instead, you can use XOX type sequencers and various play effects. *Sorry if this is not the intended answer due to web translation.

Thanks for watching the video. This player mode plays VGM files copied in a dedicated folder created in the MicroSD inserted in the main unit. The 16 buttons in the lower row start any VGM song file playback. Song files do not play automatically and continuously. After stopping playback, manually select another song. Blast Beats is not a synth for everyone, but I like it. If you are looking for convenient and comprehensive groove gear I would recommend Elektron or Korg. If you don't want those conveniences and want a sound like no one else has, then I can recommend Blast Beats.

@@SonicVibe Blast Beats has a MicroSD card slot in which sequence patterns and synth presets are stored. In the latest version (Ver 2.8), a folder is created in that area to store VGM files, and by copying uncompressed VGM files, it functions as a VGM player for the YMF262. the VGM available in Blast Beats is a file created for the YMF262. The core of the sound in Blast Beats is the YMF262 (OPL3) chip, which was used in Sound Blaster and other products in the 1990s, and can produce the computer-like sound of the time. The build quality of the Blast Beats is relatively good. Robust cases, solid faders and knobs. (However, my own Blast Beats had a somewhat faulty SD card reader quality a while back, which I repaired myself after consulting Twisted Electrons.) Firmware updates were relatively frequent and some additional features were achieved with user input. There are a few bugs in the internal software, so this is not for those who are concerned about the details. In countries where no distributor exists, you will need to communicate with Twisted Electrons (France) by email or telephone. I live in Japan, but as there are no distributors in Japan, I imported and purchased the product privately.
