What kills me is how people are calling this a downgrade from the 3DS entries. Like, I can _kinda,_ just barely see how it’s a bit less meticulously perfect than the sprite-centric art of the series had been for 16 years…. But these Twitter smoothbrains don’t see how well Nintendo is leveraging the jump to 3D, with 100% of the fluidity and energy of the animation of previous games, while also taking advantage of camera angles that wouldn’t be possible in even the most recent 3DS entries. And the Twitter users complaining about graphics seem to be ignoring the art style entirely. I complain about Pokémon SwSh/BDSP/ScVi’s graphics because the art styles are way too generic to save them (except in rare cases where LG and Arceus were just stylish enough), but Mario & Luigi Brothership looks like a perfect 1:1 adaptation of the style of Dream Team’s giant Luigi battles in HD. Like Twitter has *the* worst takes. They’ll claim Mario & Luigi Brothership has “bad graphics” while eating up deliberately-ugly DEI microtransaction-riddled slop whose sales fail to break even on offensively large budgets, *but then* they’ll turn right around and praise Pokémon Scarlet & Violet and shift 100% of the blame of its woefully poor graphics off of Game Freak and onto the Switch hardware whilst ignoring the fact that the Switch has Xenoblade/2/3, Persona 5, Shin Megami Tensei 5, and Fire Emblem Engage all running far better while also looking (almost) like PS4 games. I genuinely hate Twitter. There’s some sane ppl in there (showcased by this very video), but the prevailing norm of the platform is to consistently have the worst opinions on every subject ever

I feel like if starlow was in one game only she would be more bearable, but the fact that she's in three and constantly complains to dreambert in dream team makes it hard to love her. So hyped for the new game though.

I like that game already. Using the artwork for the art style of the game is something I liked. And then, after so many years without playing a new Mario & Luigi game, this feels hopeful. My last new game was Dream Team on 3DS. Sadly, I didn't play the remakes. I haven't played Partners in Time or Paper Jam either. But I already played most of them.
