I like both but prefer the first wave. It gives a sense of a natural flow and the cells created the foam look. The colours blended very well. On the second piece, I was hesitant on how nicely it would end, but you managed to blend the colours the way, and the white cells saved the overall look. Either way you make it look so easy to make. Another great tutorial, thank you!

Great instruction on two different techniques for a classic fluid art subject. One of my first attempts at fluid art painting was watching Molly’s video on this, and a few other KZfaq artists. An observation of mine is that most KZfaq fluid artists take inspiration you or Molly and design the wave as you did, from right to left. My inspiration for this was the famous woodblock The Great Wave Off Kanagawa. The Great Wave moves from left to right, threatening the barely noticeable fisherman. Since I read from left to right, I find this more menacing, more animating. Unless one is simulating a surfers crash into a wave, which yours reminds me of. Anyway, why do so many do the wave from right to left?
@LeftBrainedArtist
@LeftBrainedArtist Жыл бұрын
That is an excellent question. Herd mentality maybe? The left to right does seem to imply a threat. Also it might just be easier to do with the right hand.
