The Triple Fisherman's knot (which is technically a bend and therefore is commonly referred to as the Triple Fisherman's Bend) is used to join two ropes or the ends of a single rope or cord, commonly used to make Prusik Loops for friction hitches. It is strong and secure, but difficult to untie after loading.
