When you are having the U0109 error code, your car will crank properly. It will produce spark in the ignition, allow air into the combustion chamber but not enough fuel to ignite.
Hence it will either continue in crank no start mode until it drains your battery if you continue cranking, or starts but stalls sometimes, or even goes off due to poor fuel to the combustion chamber.
Other symptoms of this error code might include,
Fuel Mixture issues. inconsistent fuel pressure leading to incorrect fuel air mixture, may arise due to the loss of communication with the FCM, and this will lead to high gas mileage leading to high emission too.
Finally, Engine Performance. You will also notice a reduced engine performance or responsiveness as a result of the of the U0109 error code.
