I actually bought a pair of these from the local Marshalls stateside in KY.... I paid $39.99 + tax and I absolutely LOVE THEM. I assume that being at a third-party reseller like they were maybe the pair was defective? But I cannot find any fault in them no matter how hard Ive looked. So, the main difference that Ive seen talked about between the Machina 3 and their previous iterations is the dual-density HOVR foam. Apparently they beefed up the stiffness in the front of the shoe, and were aiming at those more interested in X-Training rather than longer distance runs. I have the hovr infinite 2. The foam is quite firm. I greatly prefer their cheaper charged foam. It's softer.

Are these ideal for long distance running ?

The one argument that I believe is valid for buying leather goods is that they last much longer than shoes made from fabric and plastic, they can be repaired and resoled so they produce less waste, and leather is biodegradable where plastic is not.
