Fantastic transformation! Sooo great you tore down that blocking wall and moved the fridge and pantry. The entire ground floor is so much mpre spacious and social, the kitchen is big and inviting, bright and that peninsula perfect to sit and use a laptop, eat a snack or serve drinlks from and great for baking too. The only thing that looks a bit ”squashed” to my eye is the dining corner. Most likely because of the dark corner sofa. Looks a bit like something you’d put in a city flat (I hope you don’t mind). I’d have either swapped that sofa for one built along the long wall up to bit not around the corner) with panelling up the wall to about 5 yards (possibly painted) and a fitted cushion with loose ones along the back with washable linnen covers (possible change of color depending on season) or buy a Scandinavian style retro kitchen sofa bench in natural wood and get a table with a natural wood table top that counters the grey and white scheme and reflects any candle light warmly. I’d probably look for a great lamp to hang over it drawing the eye up, as too much furnishings on the same level/plane creates that sqeezed effect, or save up for a focal piece of art or two for the walls there that reach up. I’d perhaps go for an antique fold out table with some soul and ware, with flaps, that could be turned in any direction and seat a crowd for any future gatherings. Perhaps an oval one without sharp corners. That kitchen changed the whole downstairs so the perspective of other areas changed too! What a great change! Hanging the mirror by the peninsula was a great touch to add dimension and break up all the straight angles, and having your wedding rug at the heart of your home is lovely. ❤️

Wow. Your kitchen looks great. I would have never been so brave to paint an accent wall blackish but its perfect back drop for your open shelves and displays. And removing that wall really gave a more spacious look. Can't wait for your next project.
