Don't go to this channel for news or military analysis, he is either deceitful or misinformed in both arenas. I suspect it's primarily a profit motive. @@hooywamd00pe95 hes not wrong. Hungarians generally suck but the EU immigration sucks as well. Hungarians are just fully focused on themselves and dont care even in the slightest about anyone around them. Case to point Orban carrying the larger Hungary flag that steals land from Croatia. The fact is that Hungary doesnt belong in EU, or either Europe. If we could move Hungary somwhere they belong deep in Asia next to India and Pakistan

@@hooywamd00pe95 Hungary's far right leader, namely Orban, wants to have his cake and eat it. He likes being part of the EU because it is good for Hungary's economy but he to play by the rules. I have no doubt those old enough to remember communism might not see that period as that bad compared to today, especially fed by the Orban controlled state media (there is very little free media), feeding anti EU sentiment for everything that is wrong whilst portraying Orban as being their champion, much like the Russian Kremlin controlled media does, combined with Hungary relying on Russia for cheap gas. Hungary has always been an isolate in the region, seeing itself as ethnically different, it's not Slavic, it was forced to accept transfer of land it saw as part of Hungary, and which does contain Hungarian speaking populations although not the majority, after WWI when the Austro-Hungarian Empire was dissolved after backing the losing side Germany. This is much like countries surrounding Russia have Russian speaking populations and even ethnic Russians living there. Hungary is still bitter from this and ever since Orban and his Fidesz party came to power much like in Russia control of the media suppression without outright banning of opposition parties has taken place, giving the opposition 5 minutes on state media to make their case whilst Orban is on there permanently. The formation of an anti terror unit that acts more like Orban's secret police has turned Hungary into a mafia state. Reduction in the independence of the judiciary has also occurred during his tenure. The claim that the EU has any control over Hungary or Orban in general is ridiculous. Hungary could leave the EU if it wanted to but knows it would suffer massively by doing so. And if you think Russia has no influence over Hungary you're bonkers. As well as the earlier mentioned cheap oil and gas deals Hungary relies on I'm sure Orban benefits greatly by being friends with Putin and his rich friends, keeping Orban in power is very beneficial to Putin as he's a way to block or at least slow down any EU aid to Ukraine, benefiting Putin in his war efforts. So you are right that historical context needs to be taken into account but wrong on everything else. Any Americans reading this would heed the warning. Hungary, much like other Central and Eastern European countries could have chosen another path but just like in Russia they elected a man they thought would be good for their country and he ended up being an authoritarian dictator. You think it could never happen here? I hope we don't have to find out the hard way!!!

Reminds me of hearing a german once describe what it is like, having the Czech Republic as a neighbouring country: "They are like that extremely quiet downstairs neighbour. You see him like twice a year on the stairwell and you are pretty sure he is doing something illigal, but he's never bothered anyone as far as you can tell, so you just kinda live and let live." The way they just "aquired" hundrets of thousands of artillery shells out of nowhere kinda makes me understand what he meant.

I once talked to a guy from .CZ that owned a 155mm Artillery piece and he explained to me how he managed the paperwork/legal stuff in order to own the thing. His reasoning was "When you have trouble with your neighbour, but he is a country away, this 155mm still counts as home defense".

There are a number of countries that do not want to be seen supplying lethal weapons to Ukraine so they do it very quietly through a third party broker. South Korea comes to mind. They have a policy of not supplying lethal weapons, but with North Korea sending several million rounds, they might feel that they can spare a million or two rounds out of their 20 million round stockpile.
@mattpotter8725
@mattpotter8725 17 күн бұрын
@@MarkDalbey-cv9sb South Korea is the country where a lot of the artillery is made so I don't know what you're talking about. It has nothing to do with their government though but they're a big US ally, for obvious historical reasons, and so this is where many Western NATO countries bar the US, will get their ammo supplies. I don't know why this is not news to anyone. As for the Czechs I think it's rich talking about how a German describes them when they're invaded them multiple times, so I would blame them for anything. In this case though they are merely the middle men, probably making some money out of huge business deals, but wanting to show they are supportive of Ukraine in case they need US support in the future, much like Ukraine is getting now, let's hope it never comes to that though or we're all in trouble.

Let's face it, ru has +/- 18-months left in this fight both in terms of how their economy can sustain it, and as to how their logistics will be able to seriously / consistently provide heavy metal equipment. After that? This country will be down to a level where former Soviet Countries such as Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, and Kyrghyzstan will be able to pretty much tell ru to shove it (China is listening)! And this is not even looking at all of the ru Republics currently part of the ru federation, many of them which would benefit from keeping / managing their natural resources themselves instead of shipping everything to moskow / st-pet. For the West? We haven't even tried to help Ukraine to the level we are able.

Great work by the Czechs! I just hope they get all the money they need to buy everything that is available on the market. From what I heard it's over 2 million rounds available to be delivered within a week after payment. Its really a no-brainer, just buy everything and keep ramping up Western production.

I think you miss an important point calling farm land empty fields. This is actually what Putin wants. Ukraine is known as the bread basket of the world and those fields grow grain thats worth more than oil over time. /captruing them is a strategy objective.

While empty conversations continue in Europe, the Russian army is grinding the Ukrainian defenses in different directions and has achieved new gains on the Ukrainian battlefields. On the night of June 17, the Russian Aerospace Forces launched devastating strikes on the Ukrainian rear. In particular, the temporary points of deployment for the Ukrainian military in the Kharkiv region were destroyed. A Russian bomb hit a children’s camp in the Shevchenko district. Of course, the Ukrainian authorities announced an alleged attack on another civilian facility. In fact, the precision strike destroyed a building full of Ukrainian servicemen and foreign militants. Kharkiv remains one of the directions inflamed by tense battles. On the eve of Zelensky’s conference, the Ukrainian army was forced to throw significant forces into heavy counterattacks there. However, they could not boast of any success to their Western patrons. Intense fighting continues in Volchansk. The Ukrainian military is trying to transfer reserves across the river in the city and on its outskirts. Despite heavy losses, they are yet to achieve significant success. In the area of the town of Liptsy, Russian units were forced to retreat last week and hold defense on the outskirts of Glubokoe, but subsequent attacks by the Ukrainian military using NATO armored vehicles can no longer change the front line near the village and only result in growing Ukrainian and NATO losses. The ongoing attempts to find a weak spot in the Russian defense are not yet yielding any results. Meanwhile, Ukrainian military resources are sounding the alarm, declaring the intensification of Russian offensive operations along the entire front line in the Avdeevka direction from the Karlov reservoir in the south to the village of Kalinovo in the north. After the liberation of Novoaleksandrovka, Russian forces expanded the zone of their control to the south, west and northwest of the settlement. The assault on the Canal district continues in Chasov Yar. Most of the crossings over the Seversky Donets Canal have been destroyed. Ukrainian servicemen are trying to maintain control over the remaining high-rise buildings under heavy Russian fire. Most of the district came under the control of Russian paratroopers. According to preliminary reports in the Mariinka direction, the Russian army took control of Georgievka and entered Maximilianovka. The frontlines are also moving in the Zaporozhie region. On June 16, the Russian Defense Ministry confirmed full control of the village of Zagornoe. In the Kherson region, Russian forces have recently taken control of several important islands in the Dnieper River, which is secured by their small infantry groups.

Russia can get all the artillery shells it wants but if they do not have the artillery machine to actually shoot the damn things they ain't gonna be able to do anything with those shells. The less machines they have, the more those dwindling number of machines will have to work, increasing wear. It's possible that with Russias excessive use of artillery, they could see themselves in a negative feedback loop sometime down the line.
