One thing I've been noticing frequently is that you've been missing the information that pops up in the reports tab. There was multiple points in this video where one of your ships detected an incoming torpedo but you either didn't notice or noticed too late by chance when looking back to your own ships. I understand that it's already very intensive to both try and make the video entertaining as well as issue commands but stealing a glance at the reports when information pops in should help increase survivability as well aid in damage mitigation if evasion is not possible. Three things to note in the reports tab: Which allied ships have detected torpedoes, excessive damage scored on your own ship from an enemy (Or yourself) and damage in general that has resulted in flash fires or detonations. Hope this helps if you catch this message

I'd make a "modern" USS Monitor. Only a single turret holding two main guns, and so there's someplace to put em without screwing up the lines I'd cover the turret roof in AA. Though so it's somewhat useful I'd have to make the main guns really big, maybe something like 36" (which would still be half the inches of a 9 cannon armed BB, 16"x9=144" vs 36"x2=72").

A super Yamato with 4 quadruple 460mm guns, 4 triple 406mm guns, two triple 155mm guns, twin funnels for maximum engine efficiency, a lot of quad mount bofors (haven’t figured out the exact number of AA guns). And some more stuff that may or may not be added in the future.

Right and he never tried single mounts in them either, he only tried duel or triple mounts, but it worked out for him anyway, he wanted to see them press the attack with the destroyers, but i think the 3 inch guns he put on the ship actually stopped them from getting closer, because they charged through the 5 inch batteries, but when they hit the 3 inch line and the rapid fire of them, forced them to circle.

I’ve tried telling you this before stealth. Those small skits in the superstructure where your trying to put guns in can only fit single barrel 4inch guns or smaller. You keep trying to put fuel mounts in there.

I was thinking the same they look like single mount holes, he tried the 5 inch but none of the others in single mounts, but the 3 inch duel mounts did their jobs at keeping the destroyers at bay. You can clearly see the destroyers charge through the 5 inch line, they reach the 3inch gun line and then bail

The gaps are for case mates. These sorts of gaps can be seen on a load of WWI battleships. However, Japan did have quite a few cruisers that had similar gaps that were for torpedoes instead.

@@theworldsthreat the swivel torpedoe launchers were on their heavy cruisers because they needed to protect the oxygen filled torpedoes, oxygen filled torpedoes ignite much easier than regular, oxygen is highly flammable and bad for the wood decks the japanese used.

I wouldn't look at this as a defeat. While you've lost a ship and the others are heavily damaged, not only has the Hannover suffered a near fatal beating, the engines and rudder are damaged so much it has lost most of its maneuverability and all of her screening ships are gone. If a second attack is organised quickly enough, it will not survive. And even if it makes it back to port, the ship will be out of action for months if not a full year while repairs are carried out, during which time it will become very familiar with the air force as they seek to finish off a massive sitting duck. Weighed up against the looses, it's a great tactical victory

Same, I tried 9 times now to get him to do the battle of savo island. I set him the scenario, the japanese were out nu.bered in the battle and is considered one of the worst defeats for America in the pacific. Kinda tired of battleship and battlecruiser game play, I wanna see some of the cruiser game play.

You miss remember your Instructions (again) 1:25 -1:35. All or nothing. ALL your ships sunk (= loss) or ALL enemy ships sunk (= win).

You could always try using smaller main and or secondary towers to save on weight and deck space. As you said, you don't always have to go with the best option every time ;P

Can be a real pain but something to consider... putting one ship up the mid and the others to flank... you can then cross drop torps by having them all hold fire then put to aggressive. Done right even with good warning, so long as you don't have super slow torps you can pretty much guarantee a few torp hits. Takes a fairly huge amount of micromanagement though. Also worth a mention is that shells are once again flying in wildly wrong trajectories and frequently at impossible angles given turret facing... ie 3rd shell of a triple turret deviating by an impossible amount.

Next time for BC hull, put your secondary tower first and then your main tower right next to it. Having a little unused space between them kinda makes me annoyed as you can have more room for bow main guns

Don't know whether mentioned or not, but what I think worth mentioning is that the penetration values that you are taking into considiration are mostly armour-hit values; though, you get into firefights mosly at range at which shells hit the deck not the actual armour. For example in this video you are battling in great ranges not in close quarters.

Would it make sense to use the main guns against the DDs also? They would sink much faster from a large caliber hit and you could clean them out faster. Then you shift everything against the BB.

If you want to go bow-in, you could use a pair of side-turrets up front, if you can't fit a barbette. It will leave your broadside one turret short compared to a super-firing pair, but will give you the same direct-forward firepower. Or if you have the room you could even put a pair of side-guns in front of a superfiring centerline turret. ^^

Stealth i think the only one you can put on that corner of the secondary tower is a torpedo tubes because in the HMS hood it was equipped with torpedo tubes

The hood did have torpedo tubes, but they wern't on the deck. They were in the hull towards the stern, forwward of the rear guns. They are really easy to spot because they are oval hatches on the side of the ship. The slots in the superstructure are for casemate guns, but Stealth is alergic to casemate guns!

Relocate armor on your belt and deck extended to your main belt and deck, you just need some armor against HE rounds(most of time i use 1 inch) Shell with high penetrate will pass your ship without detonate(which deal minimal in game) Just don't forget max you bulkheads and anti flood.

Not sure I'm a fan of how much your accuracy is influenced by speed or how little it seems to matter to accuracy how many times your salvos have gone in. As you start straddling the target, your gunners would be able to use that information to see if salvos are long or short and eventually get a very accurate firing solution.

Your design of the cruiser is great but I would go for a smaller caliber guns just to have four and use dual barrel. Cuz you look at lake British French and German heavy and light cruisers they made me go for triple mount for their light cruisers and due amount for their heavy or battle cruisers.

The form you set up is pretty handy, but you might want to make the story and enemy fleet composition input fields into multi-line text fields. I noticed when I was submitting mine that it was a little troublesome to keep track of what I'd already entered, and the shorter character limit on single-line fields could potentially be a problem for some users. Also, this game really seems to have a bias towards fore weight offset... it's a bit ridiculous at times.

Would have gone with twin 15" and 4 turrets with SH/TP - more survivability, accuracy, rof. This British BC hull seems inherently hard to avoid pitch issues since its inherently so damn long. Like to see them integrate sliders for tech so you could replicate some of the naval academy missions, get Mark 5 on the guns. Notice for 1940 there seems to be overtech, just because guns are smaller - so the 9" seem almost satellite guided munition armed, and better tech than 8" on CA's. Also, extend the end tech date to 1945 - take in the Des Moines class, Sverdlovs, ect. This latter point was also a weakness in the old Fighting Steel game - end date was too soon to fully explore speculative, alternative history where gunnery was more important for longer. It took the modders of Fighting Steel project to get us Montana's and Des Moines.

Put a smaller rear tower if it's an Interceptor it need to be quick and quick firing close range you don't need those big Advanced powers put smaller ones less advanced for closer range and shoot off torpedoes without worry of missing.

How is the AI designing such crazy strong ships for you to fight meanwhile I design a Yamato clone of 90k tons and the AI throws a 60k ton cannon fodder with just 6 16" guns at me

Also my AI has a weird habit of designing non-uniform battleships even with 1940 tech. Like, that 60k ton battleship I mentioned will also have four 8" secondary turrets on the side, in addition to numerous 6" turrets.
