My guy forgot about Asta 😭 She has tons of toughness damage, massive speed & ATK% buff that converts into Break Effect for Firefly (roughly 58% more BE) Asta can also keep her ATK buff uptime a lot better since Firefly can implant Fire Weakness.

Something I love about Star Rail is the unique playstyles different team comps can offer. Building a mono quantum feels very different from a follow-up team which feels very different from a super break team. Star Rail really keeps things interesting with new game changing strategies and characters.

@@dotalbo8279 We are 100% getting more break characters for awhile. We don't have that many options for break teams at all, so filling out the roster a bit for a new team type would be ideal. Probably at least 1 more 5 star for each role (DPS, Support, Sustain) before 3.0 is my guess. Which to be fair is like 6+ months but still.

Is this 280 a required permanent value? I tried in simulation uni. around 280-300% speed and never found 5-turn due to speed fluctuation while her skill active

From what I've heard, Robin's ATK buff doesn't work with Firefly because it scales off of Robin's own ATK. The game has a restriction in place for cases like this to prevent infinite loops of buffs. For example, if we had a character that boosts HP based on their own ATK and another that boosts ATK based on their own HP then they would would be on a loop of 1 buffing the other's ATK which would buff their HP, which would in turn buff the first's ATK also buffing their own HP and so on... For this reason, Firefly can only receive ATK boosts that are flat or that scale based off of Firefly's own ATK and not the buffer's.

Or just make restrictions. Those 2 can't stack. If she gets an ATK buff, it would buff her HP but that additional HP received can't buff her ATK. Idk if this makes sense, but a similar game has implemented this, League of Legends, try reading Vladimir's passive and you will understand what I mean.

Amazimg guide, as usual, IWTL! So, basically, without her BiS (HMC & Ruan Mei) once we get other MoCs not catered to them, that will Boothill a much better back for buck. Of course, I will pull for FF, because of SAM (otherwise, I wouldn't) but this is the first limited 5* that really needed a specific character (HMC) in order to actually work. We may get more Super Break support, but if we don't, that will be her status.

My solution to Boothill's toughness problem. Run him with Acheron. You can laugh but his duel is a debuff and when those stacks are up and shields break thats 2 stacks for Our Lady. "Oh no Acheron is down a stack and my Boothill can't break this elite" get a stack from using the first part of boothill's skill, use acherons ult to lower the shield, do big dummy break numbers with Boothill. Now you got 2 units doing the big numbers. Twice the fun and the interaction is pretty nice.

Gonna be pulling for E1 instead of S1 probably. It might be less damage, but we are inevitably going to be getting a dedicated 5 star break sustain soon, and if they end up being SP hungry or even just SP neutral, E0 firefly might struggle. Gallagher does a lot of legwork in making E0 firefly work without much SP problems, and even then you have to dial back on the HMC skill usage. Plus if I decide to pull again on a rerun, E2 firefly is massively more damage than E1S1 firefly.

Reminder that Ruan Mei gives 10% speed not 10 speed. That means that for 165 you need 150 speed (not 155) because 10% of 150 is 15 and 15 +150 = 165. Similarly for 150 you need 137 speed. I mention this because 5 speed can really hurt to try to get. Like force you to farm for weeks to get a good enough equipment piece kind of hurt.

RM's buff is based on the character's base SPD. Firefly's base SPD is 104 iirc, and Ruan Mei's buff gives 10% so ( 104 + 10.4 ( 10% of 104 is 10.4 ) = 114 SPD

Asta can work very well with Firefly thanks to her atk buffs that become more break effect on Firefly, and the speed that comes with her ultimate, I'd recommend Dance Dance Dance as the LC for more turns in her enhanced state. Besides buffs, Asta can work very well with Firefly's fire implanted weakness since it can help Asta to keep up her buffs, and use her skill to break enemies.

Robin's buff doesn't work because it is calculated from Robin's attack, and those ratio-from-another-source buffs do not work for any other conversions (like atk to break for Firefly). Same with Tingyun and one of the hunt blessings from SU (the one that gives atk based on previous active character)

I've been seeing that firefly lc is 17% better than the 5* herta shop lc but Ruan Mei's lc is nearly 12% dmg increase over her other options. I've seen people recommend Ruan Mei E1 over everything else though

Asta with DDD is 75% robin ult which is good, also the atk buff she gives is useful since it scales the BE, but you can also use planetary rendevous and just take atleast 3 substat roll in spd

If enemies recovering from break is an issue for firefly teams, what do you think of Welt instead of Pela since welt decreases enemy speed by 10%?

Asta’s atk boost is decent for the break effect convert, and also her breaking capabilities are great especially in single target, but the fire bonus dmg in her kit doest really affect firefly and the ult doesn’t really give that much especially if u have ruan mei and dance dance dance on harmony mc. just my take~ maybe Asta’s good in a 0 cycle run.
