Hi, there. I have a question. I has mention it that I bought lifx bulb and strip light because of your video. Lifx is great, I love it. But the thing is, when I try to buy the connection Cable for extra strip, they're solo out on lifx.com. And as you know, it's been a while, do you know where can I find the right Cable for this type of strip? I know lifx is pretty exclusive.

I use a govee kit with a camera that changes the bias lighting based on what's on the TV, I like it in the mode where it averages the colour balance on the screen, and throws one colour based on that, as opposed to the mode where the strips extend the on screen colours in the respective regions. It is a lot less distracting having the whole bias switching instead of regions switching.

Nice video! I tried responsive bias lighting behind the tv a while back (hue tv app I think?) and thought I’d really like it but actually found it a little too distracting. Now I just stick to solid colors and turn the whole room to the same color. Great for setting moods when it’s movie time!

Hey! I recently installed Govee Amient Bias Lighting kit which uses a small camera that views the screen in fisheye to determine the colors on the screen. So far it works well but I realized it could be improved if it were to take color from a video input. I tried hooking up video input to it with no avail. There are ways to set it up with a raspberry pi but I don't have the tools to do it currently, but it would be cool if you would explore bias lights that were dynamic and change with picture. Great video!

Hi Reed! I love your videos, thank you for providing entertaining and helpful content! My husband and I want to install under cabinet lights. My biggest hurdle is the microwave is in the middle of the cabinets (over the stove) and I want there to be a gap in lighting there, but would like to keep the same light strips so I can connect the colors. We bought lifx light strips but I’m wondering if we should’ve gone with philips-hue, because there seems to be more no light extensions for Phillips then lifx. Do you have any tips? Should I return lifx and switch to philips? Thank you!

Thanks Peter! I agree it's a bit of a hassle to get set up. I was reading some ideas on reddit and some were saying they keep an old mac mini plugged into the tv that they play media on with hue sync always running. Seems like a decent option to reduce the hassle. Like I mentioned there is the DreamScreen and there is another less expensive option by Govee. amzn.to/31u03Z9 It has a camera that watches the screen to change colors.

Thank you for your analyses. But what about Razer Chroma Hardware Development Kit. They are compatible with Razer Synapse and Chroma Studio which makes them great in pair with razer mouse and keyboard chroma effects. They give you much more options than anything you've shown in your video. The only down side is that there are only 4 strips of 50cm each, which is not enough to cover a big TV on its 4 edges.
