This was how I felt the other day when I went to the dentist and there was a new younger hygienist going “wow you have such beautiful teeth! Look at them!” And just admiring them 😂😂 the thing is I have very average teeth. She definitely is in the right line of work.

@@Shorts11327 its SO painful. Just a small corn is bad enough. Look up corns on the foot. Basically its a mass that you step on that has nerves under it. Its SO painful. I wouldn't be able to walk with that. I had one removed, and I still get phantom pain there

@Shorts11327 i have no heel padding on my feet from a rare illness, so i walk around on bone & at the back of my foot a callus forms under my sharp heel bone. If i don't debride the callus it feels like a nail going into my foot hurts very much. i really felt for her seeing her crawl 😢.. before i was cutting them off 6 different sites with a knife just cutting them was painful & was difficult to get relief! I am glad i found the dremal that's what she should use 100% get the feet surgically done. then be constant with a dremal

@@Shorts11327 think of it like walking on little needles. That hurts even though there aren't many nerves in the area. The pain sensors can still feel. Trying on shoes must be a nightmare for them. Unfortunately there is no cure for this condition.

My father and I both have Olmsted Syndrome and have been successfully treated using skin grafts. When the condition first appeared in my father in the 1950's, many differing treatments were unsuccessfully tried, meanwhile the pain grew unbearable and amputation of his feet was a possible option being discussed. At the time my father lived near East Grinstead (London) where pioneering plastic surgeon Archibald McIndoe was working. As a last resort dad went for surgery with him and this worked. I have been the beneficiary of this knowledge and have had multiple skin graft operations (14 in total) covering both my feet and parts of both hands. The skin grafts have all been split thickness with the donor sites being my thighs.

Hey can I ask a question though? What is the source of the pain? It can’t be from within the calluses themselves right? It seems like the calluses are the cause of the pain but that can’t be it, right?

@@markieffmorris9263the nerves in her feet make it feel like stepping on rocks all the time, is if the calluses themselves are like rocks stuck to her sensitive feet and she has to walk on them barefoot wherever she goes.

100% I got to my 30s before mine turned on me, Crohn’s colitis first , then two bouts of sepsis and then my liver packed in and hand a transplant. Never was a drinker or smoker . And spent my life doing sports and being active. Just got lucky. But going well now.

The doctor stepped out of the norm and created a treatment plan of her own for this poor woman. And it WORKED!!! I'm a nurse and I've never heard of this medical condition. I feel so sorry for this woman. I hope the grafting is a long term solution to her painful, disabling condition. Hooray for everyone!!!!💜❤

I mean sure, but this isn't a new procedure for Olmstead. There is a paper published in 2008 on the long term affects of skin grafts used to treat Olmstead. Perhaps it wasn't this exact same procedure, but it's not as revolutionary as you or the show make it sound. Even 5 minutes of research would have shown you that.

Depends if debridement is classed as a procedure . Yup , wow this is a mass of hyped debridement . We had a client with this whilst training 35 years ago , our professors would have gone wild at the awful edges . Half the management plan involves client self care .

Wow! I'm so, so happy for her and for her mom, I'm sure it hasn't been easy for her either. There are so many weird conditions... Sometime we take health for granted, but watching her story and other people's stories make me just want to be grateful for every single part of my body. And watching the doctors work is also humbling.

@Zafir89 I had one of those things once in my life. It was like constantly having a pea size piece of gravel stuck to the bottom of my foot. I can only imagine what this feels like to this lady. Heres a tip if you ever get another plantar wart tho. Soak a small piece of cotton the size of the top of the wart in apple cider vinegar, then cover the whole thing with the original silver duct tape sealed against your foot. Change it once a day. It *will* remove the entire wart with minimal pain after a few weeks. I saw that somewhere and didnt believe it but had tried all the other stuff like wart remover and the stupid thing kept coming back so I was desperate. It works!

I have pancreatic cancer and everytime I went for terrible pain they thought I was a pill seeker and sent me home, took me 6 months to actually get tests done. Now, in my past I was a heroin junkie and have 4 overdoses on record. So they didn't care or believe me that I was having excruciating pain 24 7

I just watched this episode this evening. I really hope this method gives the patient some longer term relief. Certainly looked great at the end of the episode. Fingers crossed. The human body is truly amazing. So if you can reset the skin with the mesh, hopefully the procedure can help others with this extremely rare syndrome.

Я одного понять не могу: она стремилась к какому то рекорду? Что мешало ей обработать на ранних стадиях ступни пемзой? У меня бы не хватило сил это терпеть и я самостоятельно срезал бы все эти наросты обычным острым ножом. Я могу понять когда человек пожилой и ему действительно тяжело позаботится о себе, но этой девушке на вид не больше 35 и выглядит вполне здоровой.

Do you live in India? Before I saw this video, every case of Olmstead syndrome that I had ever heard of was in India. It was years ago, but I remember reading about a family where most of (if not all... I can't remember all of the details) the children had the condition. The severity of the condition varied amongst the siblings..with it ranging from similar to the case in this video to one of having growths that resembled bricks on the bottoms of their feet. What made that case different was that these children weren't receiving any treatment..nor were they doing any 'trimming' of their growths, like the girl in this video did..along with receiving annual professional trim jobs from doctors.

GREAT JOB DOCTORS, THE LIFE THIS WOMAN WAS LIVING WAS ONE OF DISCOMFORT AND PAIN, AND YOU HELPED RESOLVE THIS. I HOPE OTHERS WILL COME FORWARD TO GET THE HELP THEY CAN OBTAIN FROM YOU.

I have bad knees from playing sports, I literally can't stand to watch her crawling on her knees, hopes God bless her for sure 🙏

I'm so proud of you're so swrong when I was a child My feet used to get cracky and dry and hurt I couldn't walk And my grandmother You just to suck my feet and put bags on my feet at night to get moisture back in She love me so much and nurse my feet back to health To where I could walk I'm praying for you God bless you And family Doctors and surgical team I'm praying for you

OmG! This poor girl. I hope this will give her relief from pain for a long time. I just hope she won’t have to deal with this again too soon. She’s such a sweetheart.

This is such a curious condition and I have never heard of it. It must be so painful, yet she manages to be so beautiful and fresh. I wish her health and peace, she has a great energy to her and she deserves to be carefree.

That poor girl what she’s had to endure. I can’t begin to imagine 😢. I hope this skin graft stops it coming back. Looks great at the moment. Kudos to the Dr for doing it. And the girl for letting her try it for the first time 🎉

I'm so happy that her feet are better I personally know what it's like to not be able to walk for a very long time. I really hope that her feet stay as they are now everybody deserves a life pain free ❣️
