Baseball, without a shadow of a doubt, is the pettiest sport in the world and its not even remotely close Edit: Seeing a lot of soccer suggestions and I can definitely get with that but to me baseball, because it's so much smaller, really showcases the peaks of sports pettiness while soccer it's a bit more common with things like flopping and such. Something like umpires being the ones to initiate a fight or argument is only prevalent in baseball which will forever blow my mind lmao

My favorite un-written rule is that when a relief pitcher is pitching to a relief pitcher at bat (a rare occurrence) they are only to throw fastballs. If they throw anything other than fastballs then the next time the pitcher gets an at-bat against any relief pitcher (regardless of the teams or the years that had passed) that pitcher is to hit them on the first pitch. I've seen it happen and the pitching coach had to explain it to the manager as to why his pitcher just threw at an easy out.

Yeah because most the other sports you can leave it out on the field but baseball is mostly better vs pitcher only so they have to do extracurricular stuff

Umpire wouldn't have lost if he had actually gotten the coach when he was supposed to. It became a contest after the traditional 30 seconds when the umps usually check on the mound visit.

I might be able to take your point more seriously if every single one of your recent comments were about anything other than bad officiating. Officiating today is miles better than even 5 years ago. You want bad ball and strike calls? Go check out Kerry wood’s 20k game where there were strikes legitimately called 6+ inches off the plate.
