The range of vibrancy in the green is amazing, there is a difference in where each was mined for sure. The fire is so much more amazing in person on any of them. If you ever have a chance to snag one even as a loose stone ou absolutely should.

Ahh, well that explains why I mostly see demantoid garnet in the 1ct or less range. I love green gems, and it's amazing to see how every single one has its own unique tones within that hue. 💖💕

Those are some exceptionally gorgeous gem stones! The cut and faceted stone are extremely lovely, and the jewelery is just gorgeous! The blue in the stone is extremely stunning in these demantoid garnets! But those raw specimen pieces are stunning! They are exceptionally beautiful. That one for the size of the garnet crystals, but the other for the sheer quantity of garnets on it! Its all just extremely awesome! Thank you for all the information.

Exciting to see this gem on here, I was lucky to get one from he Arizona gemshow. I have bought two smaller ones since then, all in all they aren't big but their luster really makes up for it.

it kind of has the same green shade of some apophyllite I bought years ago. demantoid is one of my favorites. I'm still regretting that I didn't purchase a 1.5ct apple green demantoid with just awesome dispersion a decade or two ago. haven't seen it's like since. this almost motivates me to go do some prospecting the abandoned Lincoln mine in Nevada has andradite garnets all over the place. mostly brown-red to orange. but you never know a demantoid calcite vug could be somewhere around there.

I have Iranian Demantoid and they are amazing. The deep forest green is amazing I would say better green than emerald and far better than the faint blue-green colour in this video but they are harder to come by. They come from 2 mines in Iran one from Azebaijan and another Kerman. Kerman is gemmy and far more expensive. Iran also had Androdite and Topozolite, brown and honey colour that I have and are amazing.

The garnet group is a never ending box of surprises. From the color change varieties of Madagascar and Kenya to the Fanta orange Spessartines of Namibia and Nigeria there is something for everyone. I personally have in my collection both Russian and Namibian Demantoid garnets. While the Russian stones are unchallenged in their vivid and rich green hues, the unbelievable dispersion and fire, for which this garnet is famed, is often lost because of that very reason. The stones of Namibia are just explosive and rival any green diamond. Thanks again to Rebecca and everyone at this channel for highlighting this magical miracle of nature.

I would love a white gold or platinum nose hoop with demantoid garnets set into the hoop. The demantoid garnets would be quite small however I still want this. I would love this as well with red garnets!

I can’t help but wonder if the (boldest ever) ring had the surrounding demantoid garnet trilliant cut instead of round, and therefore maybe look less excessive. I suppose it was a conscious decision having it the most extravagant possible, just would love to hear more about it❤️ Another amazing video, as always:)

I am having a little bit of a hard time right now because I put the gemstone side by side a long time ago and I have the dementoid and the savarite garnet right next to each other in containers but I never mark them now I'm trying to figure out which one is which

Whatever I have it weighs in at just over70 carats. Could also be Prehnite. It's to hard for Prehnite though and glows under UV.

This is just a thought, but in your recording room you currently use a singular white light spectrum light source (i am guessing fluorescent bulbs?), however, why not replace that with a bank of Smart LEDs? The high quality ones let you micro-dial different lighting properties, favorite certain settings, and even produce UV or IR if wanted in order to show off some of the rarer aspects of given gems. Dialing in specific colors would likely be a bit of off screen research/practicing, however, after the initial set up, not only would the lights be cheaper then fluorescent and more reliable, but also you would be able to simulate sunsets, sunrises, noon, true white, black light, lamp light, fire light, and so much more with just a button press. This would really take the exhibits to another level, and, if you had a small desk light for closer light shining you could show off secondary light effect.

I have two demantoids now. One 1.9 carat Russian with the horsetail inclusion and one 1 carat Madagascar gem. Both are gorgeous, but the color and sparkle of the Madagascar demantoid is superior to the Russian.

She has good taste. Lol. The brownish green is a bit disappointing to the eye if you're craving that brilliant green. But it is still beautiful imo. She should appreciate the thought and gift anyway.

So I'm super rich with my 40ct gemmy Demantoid crystals? 😅 They are my fav but not that rare as he says. Depends on the deposit. And also you can't compare a trashy Madagascar Demantoid with a high class chrome Demantoid from the Ural.

I wouldn't call them trashy; they are beautiful, but I couldn't help but feel throughout the video that they don't compare to the beauty of the Russian ones. The high dispersion paired with the more saturated green is more pleasing to me. I wondered whike watching if the demantoids in the video were so pale because of the bright lights maybe? Idk.

@@kristalcallator2806 They are that pale. Only Russia and Iran produces intense greens. Namibia has more olive green and all expect of the Russians have less chrome and cause of that less dispersion. "Trash" was maybe a bit harsh but Madagascar material compared to Russians is a huge difference. I would also say its a question of definition if they are "real" Demantoids or if they are just greenish Andraditemix Garnets and "Demantoid" is only used to sell them better.

IF DEMENTOID GARNET IS NOT RUSSIAN AND IT HAS NO HORSETAILS IT'S ONLY WORTH ABOUT 20% OF WHAT RUSSIAN DEMENTOID GARNET IS WORTH NOT ALL THAT INTERESTING HONESTLY.. MUCH MORE INTERESTED IN TSAVORITE GARNET OR EXTREMELY FINE INDICOLITE TOURMALINE..
