One thing to note regarding the living metal: with the dragon origin, one system that’s two jumps away is guaranteed to spawn with a living metal deposit. At least that’s what the wiki says.

@@MontuPlays I wonder if they can add an event for getting it from Hrozgar. While watching this (great video btw) I got to thinking that an archeology site would be interesting. I definitely can confirm that. I made a dragon origin empire, noticed a living metal deposit 2 jumps away, and proceeded to start about 15 different games with 3 different dragon origin empires, and using the “survey” command I was able to see that every time a 1 unit deposit of living metal would appear 2 jumps away from the empire’s home system. I’ve read from another unconfirmed source (take this with a grain of salt) that supposedly the deposits were supposed to be anomalies that would resulting a living metal deposit and the ability to research harvesting it (again, this is unconfirmed).

Made a no alloy build I want you to try. Use dragon origin with reanimators. Completely rely on the dragon and reanimated leviathans for defense. Go spiritualists to rush traditions and start spamming baby dragons. As you are not wasting pops on alloy and consumer goods(trade), all your pops can be used on science and unity. Even mineral usage is minimized since you are not making alloys in early game. Once ecumenpolis is up start making alloys and ships. Had tons of fun with this build.
@dom6637

An interesting idea. I might steal this idea but go further down the route of "no alloys" by getting the crisis perk 😂
@Sy-jz4eq
@Sy-jz4eq 2 жыл бұрын
Tested a few more times and its actually not that bad. I recommend starting with angler and exalted priesthood to maximized unity while getting barely enough consumer goods and energy to survive. As you are basically not using technicians, miners, artisans, and metallurgists, don't research anything that improves them. Once you have your 4th tradition and the third civics point, get reanimators and ditch the exalted priesthood for something else. Go around with your dragon and kill leviathans to revive them. The biggest RNG is getting the living metal research. Also, trading communications with every AI you meet seems to trigger galactic community much faster. I feel like this is a somewhat sacrilegious min-max thing that may work.

You needed to pick up One Vision, not Tech Ascendency first, the +10% Unity really adds up if you have Exalted Priesthood, three planets with temples and Veneration of the Saints (high priests also get the +20% output). I would highly suggest the trait Resilient, its +50% defensive army damage for 1 point and you can genemod it away later (trust, it actually makes defensive zombies way way stronger like they basically counter double the invasion power and can easily fend off invasions due to the chance at making more zombies). For Traditions I would suggest Expansion, Prosperity, Unyielding in that order, Expansion is actually very critical in a timing sense, it cuts down the time to get a colony up and running significantly, it also gives you +1 free district which can help if you have two resource poor planets, Prosperity, is prosperity, its good, no surprise. I suggest unyielding because of the left tree, it makes claims more expensive, you war exhaustion higher and you take 25% less stacking bombardment damage (75% less without fortress world spec is good), you get defensive army damage and you have the old bonus from the Harmony tree of +33% fire rate and +25%(i think?) build speed in a defensive war. You also get 4 more starbases that have 33% more HP and DMG, which is a significant boost early game if you use the edicts for Armor/Shields. I really like this build shown in the video, I just want it to make alloy monkes even more angry as they spend an entire war bombing one planet. My friends, we can go bigger, and even more annoying.
@VarkhanMB
@VarkhanMB 2 жыл бұрын
I'm still new to the game and I know this is old so it might not work in 3.4.4, but what would you swap out to put Resilient in? Additionally, how wide should I expand after the 2 colonies? I never know when to stop expanding and start turtling... Any more advice you could give?

Hey montu i have a cool empire build which i would like you to try out and see if it some potential for being meta. Ethics-xenophile authoratarian materialist civics- aristocratic elite plus pleasure seekers origin- mechanist At the start of the game change policies to ai servitude so robot pops work as servants which (with PS) will produce 9ish amenities per robo pop . This would cover up for the nobles jobs which dont produce any amenities. Could u try this out for me to see if this would be kinda meta
@flinfake
@flinfake 2 жыл бұрын
9ish amenities per *unemployed* robot pop. +5 stability equals +3% resource output to all resources. The maximum amenities bonus (twice what is used) improves happiness by 20%. Decadent lifestyle also improves happiness by 20%. Amenities equal happiness and happiness equals stability. Max happiness gives +30% stability, and stability maxes at 100 which equates to +30% resources. Stability and happiness can be acquired from other sources and most of the time I see planets hovering at around 65~70 stability with less than 10 surplus amenities on worlds with 60+ pops. So you would realistically be getting +18~24% resource output on a fully developed world. That is, +20%~ in return for two civics and some workers providing that percentage increase and not doing anything else. On a generalized world, this might be good, as this boost applies to everything, but then you wouldn't benefit as much from specialization designations, and buildings that provide bonuses would provide it to fewer pertinent pops. It has roleplay potential, but a specialized world made by a generic empire would get the same or similar production quicker with less micro, fewer pops, and a lower investment on initial resources. Again, I love the idea, I have played a similar empire single-player and loved it, but it isn't viable in competitive multiplayer.
