Underneath your table saw extension table could be wasted space... so why not build a storage cabinet to fit? But just a storage cabinet might not be enough... how about a multi-use cabinet that can also be used as an infeed and outfeed table? Follow along as Steve makes a multi-purpose cabinet to compliment the SawStop Outfeed Table.
In Part 3, slots are cut for the tabletop adjustment height system. Slots in plywood are very difficult to cut, but by drilling out most of the waste first at the drill press, then cleaning up the slot with the router table, these slots come out looking pretty good!
The last steps before the glue-up includes cutting rabbets for the leg mounting blocks and cutting the channel for the aluminum tube stock to final length.

Hey Steve. Glad this part is in the books, ready to see the next set to see how it all wraps up. One suggestion. Instead of drilling the series of holes for the slots. I would have used your Sawstop. Set a few blocks, crank the handle up to get the blade to score through, then bump the fence and do it again. I think it would have been faster and a cleaner setup for the router table! Cheers. Bryan.

Hey Steve great job! For me a carbide 2 flute or 3 flute spiral end mills work the best for mortising and template pattern cutting (I use them in my cnc). They also come in upcut or downcut spirals for better top or bottom edge finishes. They now have compression spirals for a flawless finish on 2 sides. Best of luck and great your a great teacher!

Steve, have you considered using a carbide spiral cut "end mill" bit in your router? That might be easier while giving you very satisfactory results. That's a versatile type of cutter and it's extremely useful in cutting slots -- and no pre-drilling is required.

Steve I absolutely love your videos. They are very detailed and the explanations you give are very clear and easily understood by us "armatures". But, and there's always a but, why did you feel it necessary to repeatedly show slot after slot being routed and leg after leg being rabbited once you had shown it clearly and explained it thoroughly. You said you didn't have enough time to show the glue up. Well, if you hadn't wasted 6 minutes showing us every slot being routed in real time you would have had time to include the glue up. We've been waiting weeks for this video only to be stalled by overproduction. Sorry, just had to say it. Love your show, but my time is important too.

I'm sorry you found that a waste of time. I thought the different camera angles might help show the process better. Your input is well-taken. Thanks for watching!

I'm wondering if you could cut the slots just as you would for a table saw blade insert?
@downtoearthwoodworks

Never though of that. I suppose you could, but you would still have to clean up the ends somehow where the saw blade would cut a deeper on one side than the other. Try it and let me know how it works! Thanks for watching.

Here I am thinking that looked like a great drill press...

Unfortunately I have been very disappointed with it. I am "fastidious" about rust in my shop... I coat everything with protective oil, run a dehumidifier when necessary... I really stay after it, but the chuck on the drill press has resisted all efforts and rusted considerably, even though nothing else in my shop has. The motor/pulleys are so noisy I can barely hear myself think. The run-out is way more than it should be, even for the price range of this drill press, and it is under-powered. The lasers are not worth turning on, the cross hair is off and can't be adjusted. I do like the little built-in light, but that's about it. There is an old saying about buying a car that was built on Monday or Friday ("don't do it"). Perhaps my drill press was a "Monday" unit and others of the same make and model are fine. I can only relate my personal experience. Thanks for watching!

downtoearthwoodworks thanks for the detailed reply. There is nothing more annoying than spending money on tools that don't work as intended.

I'm not sure why you couldn't use stop blocks on your router? You had no problems adding a fence to your drill press that I couldn't see why you needed it, but didn't add one to the router table which I'm sure you could have added the stop blocks to. Would increase your accuracy and decrease your time messing with the climb cuts.

My drill press fence has two t-slots running lengthwise, and as luck would have it, the pointy end of the bevel on the leg piece fell right where one of those t-slots was located. I had to put a temporary solid fence on my regular drill press fence to keep the bevel from entering the t-slot and throwing off the alignment. As far as stop blocks, yes, I could have added those, but they would have to be repositioned after two cuts to do the other two legs... a lot of fussy positioning for little additional benefit, but you are correct, I could have done that. Whether or not it would have saved any time is debatable. Thanks for watching!

I was thinking this could be a simpler method of holding the inner leg but since I haven't seen the finished product I may be missing something that would cause this not to work. www.dropbox.com/s/9s7ksfnlnc2wjge/leg.png?dl=0
