Funny thing, Russ averaged 16pts, 5reb, 7,6 assist shooting 49%, 36% from 3 last year since joining the clippers. this year he's averaging 11, 7, 7 shooting 60%, 50% from 3. He's also averaging 3 .3 turnovers per game. I think Ty Lue has figured out how to put him in the best positions of his career to be the most successful... I personally feel he should initiate the offense to start the game, and put harden at the 2 like GSW is doing with curry...

an assist requires a catch and finish on the other end. so it depends on the tendencies of the receiving party as well. the problem with leonard and george and westbrook is that when they receive the ball their tendency is to go iso. tendencies make balance, and this is not something that can be overcome with coaching and gameplanning. we have seen this time and again since the concept of the big 3 was formed.

"Rachel started off with a lie . Westbrook averaged 6.7 assist this season. And since he’s been with the clippers he’s averaged 7.5 assists." Technically, the Clippers haven't had a player average seven assists per game over a full season since Paul George and Kawhi Leonard arrived in 2019-20. Russell Westbrook averaged 7.6 assists in 21 games late last season and is at 6.7 APG through the first three games this season. Rachel Nichols needed to clarify her comment.

I mean I get Rachel’s point but I also feel like she’s giving the Clippers way too much credit. The most successful teams in the NBA have had guys who were willing to sacrifice. Who on the Clippers is willing to sacrifice? Cuz 4 former MVPs and a very good Zubac is gonna require a lot of sacrifice to even kinda function. This team’s recipe is much more likely to be a disaster than even the conference finals. Ty Lue might be the greatest coach in the NBA, but he can only do so much
@danieldaniel8883
@danieldaniel8883 8 ай бұрын
A lot of the media always say Ty Lue is a great coach, but what has he really done since he had Lebron and Kyrie. Ty Lue went to a few finals, but Lebron was doing that back-to-back to back when he was with the Heat before he came back home to Cleveland and so Ty won 1 championship with Lebron, which they were down 3-1 and it seemed like the series change when Draymond was suspended the very next game, so am not sure really sure how it would have turned out if that didn't happen, Cavs could gave lost 4-1 or 4-2 and if so would people still be saying the same things about Ty Lue.

@danieldaniel8883 Ty Lue is great at managing big personalities and egos. There are only a handful of coaches that can handle that kind of coaching pressure. Clippers will be fine. Lue barely used Covington last year towards the end of the season and Batum was expendable. PJ is another veteran with championship experience even if he is aged. At worst I think they struggle to figure it out early and Kawhi and PG get injured often causing them to rely on Harden and Westbrook, limp into the playoffs one possibly gets injured again and they fizzle out. However, at best they sync into a big four with solid bench depth and Harden/Westbrook ball out to increase their value, compete in the Conference Finals.

They both are 1 & 2 in turnovers because they both used to have to do everything and when you have the ball in your hands 90% of the time you are gonna turn the ball over.

If Dwight Howard wasn’t in his situation, he might be the perfect addition to this team to beat Denver. I believe Russ and Harden can play together. You let Russ handle the ball and have Harden shoot 3s then sub Russ out early and let Harden be Harden with the other guys. That’s the only way I see them both being happy right now.

It can only work if Russell starts the game and Harden comes in at the halfway point

Props to Rachel and Keyshawn, for pushing back on Skip tryin to bash Westbrook. Skip will never let it go that Russ had him shook at an OKC game years ago.
