Ceremony and In A Lonely Place were the first two songs recorded by New Order. They were originally worked up and rudimentary recorded with Ian Curtis just weeks before Ian's death. Ceremony is one of the best rock singles ever released.

Completely agree on your takes re the differences between the 2 versions of Ceremony, much like the Love will Tear Us Apart Again versions (the past vs the future of JD/NO). Ty for sharing, Ceremony really is one of the best rock singles ever recorded (Curtis brilliant poetry).

Tim, you're spot on about this 12". It's a great song and a powerful recording. I still have my originals (12" and 7") and I'm glad they survived a few vinyl purges from my collection in the late '80s and '90s. 'Ceremony', 'Procession' and 'Dreams Never End' (from 'Movement') are by far my favourite New Order tracks.

The Town House Was a great studio. They've cut some spectacular records. look at their alumni from that era and their resumes - Mastering and cutting engineers: Ian Cooper (1978 - 1993). Tony Cousins (1978 - 1993). Gordon Vicary (1981 - 1998). Kevin Metcalfe (1983 - 1998).

Heh, there is NO way you got that 12" single for the 1$ shown on the front, C'mon now Tim... 😁 Dang, that is about the only damn 12" I don't have by them. Guess I'd better find one. @@Universityofvinyl Thanks Tim... A good friend of mine moved to Hawaii several years ago and gave me all of his albums (about 3500) Our tastes only overlapped a little so I ended up only keeping about 500 of them. That's why I have so many 12" singles, he had a LOT of them!

No offence Tim, but there is just no way you are getting a balanced sound, with one loudspeaker in a corner and the other is out in the room!

I’ve tried several configurations. The Cornwalls sound good in the corners, most speakers do, important to have them off the wall though.

I know... No disrespect for Tim, but that always gets me that for some odd reason he never has them set up evenly. I don't see how he feels the sound is balanced like you say with one in the corner and one facing out, it just is not along the lines of what anyone considers a standard setup. But hey, if he's happy... 😊 But, yeah, 'proper' balanced stereo setup is vintal to getting a proper image.

Both speakers are toed-in to my listening position sweet spot about 8' away. Frequently, I get the "holy grail" holographic sound and stereo imaging we all strive and wish for. I have both speakers pulled from the walls (yes...the left is off the corner). Trust me...they sound great and I have consulted with the Klipsch "official guidelines" as well as their user forums.
