It’s mildly frustrating having the NFL price gouge us for Sunday Ticket to protect the local markets. I’m also frustrated with NBC throwing games exclusively on Peacock when they can just put it on TV, thus price gouging us by forcing us to buy Peacock when we already pay a cable subscription. I’m looking forward to the verdict.

I got Sunday Ticket for free last year through Verizon. It was ok, but I would never pay for it unless I actually got to watch all the games. I live in Kentucky, but still couldn't watch all the Dolphins games since a lot of them were still unavailable. $400 for 17 games might be ok, but the same cost for only 10-11 games sucks.

I agree with you that it is super annoying when companies give discounts for new customers, but not existing customers. It should get cheaper the longer you're with a company as a Thank you for your loyalty.

You make many good points here.... I think every football fan... EVERY football fan... Should be very disturbed by the testimony that ESPN wanted it, and wanted to sell it for $70 bucks..... That should be a giant headline on every website..... Now, the NFL has done a great job of making everyone their partners.... CBS, partners. Fox, partners. ABC/ESPN, partners. NBC, partners.... So when we question why there is no reporting from this trial... there ya go. Those people are NOT going to bite the hand that feeds.... Part of me feels like, even if they win the case, this is a bad look, and they have a PR problem.... But I dunno, knowing the NFL, probably nothing changes..... Even if they win the case, what's been put on the table here, really begs the question of how much has the NFL abused their natural monopoly, abused & gouged their customers, and flagrantly abused their situation.... they're begging the government to come in and say "okay you idiots, clearly you can't be trusted... You're gonna report to this public service committee on Football matters, and they will tell you how you're gonna do things moving forward....." Again, even if they win, they've spent a dump truck load of cash to win this... And in the end, they're gonna sit there quietly wiping the egg off their faces with a beach towel.... It's not a good look... At some point, it's gonna be a meme template, it's gonna enter the KZfaq sphere, podcasts, what have you, and it's gonna be a talking point... Hey, look at this, this was placed into evidence at the trial....

Personally I agree 100% that the NFL is engaging in Trust activities and that this lawsuit should be decided in ACTUALLY giving choices to the customers as far as purchasing the games/teams that you want to see. That being said, it doesn't ACTUALLY affect me all that much. I'm a Rams fan (and I have been since the 1980s), and it sucked when they left and went to St. Louis, but now that they're back they're my local team again, and I'm able to watch all of their games. That being said, I'd prefer just purchasing the right to stream the Rams games rather than having to purchase Hulu or KZfaq TV to be able to watch live TV to be able to watch the games for about $80/month. Hopefully the people will prevail on this one. 🤞😬

Rising Sunday ticket costs each year, less and less games on Sunday ticket each year… thanks to games getting auctioned off to streaming services. First time in 7 years I’ll just use a free stream online.

NFL could just create an App for each team very simple pay for the teams you want. In the end I am sure it will be more money, just like when everyone started streaming. It’s an interesting lawsuit and it is about anti-trust. While the NFL does have some exceptions it is not absolute. That’s the theory behind the lawsuits that price fixing is not part of the anti-trust exemption.

It's hard to respect you when you exaggerate. It's not price gouging because that is defined as when necessities like food, water, energy etc are jacked up during an emergency. You not being able to watch whatever team you want on demand isn't a necessity or emergency.

I think what the NFL is doing is legal. Is it right? No. I choose to not order the NFL ticket and not watch the local games because thats what's being aired. Sucks, but what can you do? How about spending time with your kids and go on a hike with them instead? That's what I'm doing. Go Pack!!

I’m not convinced that 400 dollars a year is excessive for the Sunday Ticket. And I’m not convinced that a customer should be able to buy just one team or one game. Remember that skit with Chris Rock where he just wanted to buy one rib? Hilarious. It seems that YT should be able to charge whatever it wants and provide as many games as someone wants or as few as they want. We are supposedly a “free-market economy” after all although that’s changing rapidly. But how much should YT charge for one game, or one team? That’s actually tricky. I thought if they had to change cost structure it could be a logarithmic function where the more games you buy the cheaper each one is. But it was only an idea. One game, 20 bucks. One team, 100 bucks. All NFL games, 400 bucks. Something like that. I guess I could create the equation this afternoon if I felt like it.
