This is why we need people like you in our community. GSG clearly listens to the players' feadback so if people are just blindly praising the game without criticising it when needed, it will never improve

I'm so happy to see that Double Barrel got some love and that Shockwave Damage actually does something significant after all these years.

The SBB buff is EXACTLY the kind of thing it needed to be viable. Before it was not only bad, but didn't even really do anything unique. Now with the potential of the quick recharge shield build it really gives it its own unique niche that could be worth running even if it still has some issues. And on the topic of buffs/adjustments, honestly I wish they spread the balance changes out more and did some mid season (especially for the lesser used or bad overclocks that have existed for ages) just to give us something new to try out instead of dumping all the content at once and then not really adding or doing anything for 6 months outside of the occasional holiday/seasonal event.

The sceptic puddle to terrain idea could be implemented with driller's cryo cannon and scout's cryo grenade, freezing the goo into place. Maybe the created terrain could still damage you a little bit, like hot rock

Glad you called out Tripled You for his work. I liked all the details, as usual, and really got a lot out of your visuals for the Shield Battery changes.

Already in love with the plasma burster missile change. I liked the idea of it, but due to how utterly sensitive it was, it felt like i could either kill a lootbug with one missile, or it could pass through it once, hit a wall, and deal virtually no damage. At first i thought of it as a skill issue, and it was just a very high skill cap overclock, but not knowing if im going to need 10 missiles or 1 missile to kill that grunt depending on how generous the rocket RNG was didnt feel good.

They should make it so shield battery booster overclock only loses it's bonus when your shields are FULLY depleted. Would make taking chip damage way less punishing but you still have to keep running around like a madman...

I have spent the past few hours running the Double Barrel OC with the Blast Wave mod and practicing the cancel, and I've gotta say, this kind of "get off me" button feels really powerful. It's not effortless per-se, but the cancel window isn't too hard to get used to in my opinion (although I do have the laser pointer bound to one of my side mouse buttons, which might help) and in return for doing it right you get a surprisingly effective way of clearing off not just grunts, but even grunt variants like slashers and guards. Even better is the realization that you only have to do the cancel once per full clip since if you do the cancel and only have one shot left, there's no need to worry about cancelling because the next shot puts you at 0 anyway. I've also found that it works better than expected against Praetorians in a pinch.

Oh this is good, I was under the impression that Season 4 would only contain the new enemies, new beer, and new Performance Pass. Good to hear there will be some much appreciated balance changes as well. It's still not a whole lot of new content, but changes to the kit will go a _long_ way towards making the game more fresh.

SBB has some problems with sustained DPS, not burst, but just damage over time and at the same time it positioned itself as some sort of long range, stay out of trouble sidegrade and i found out that increased accuracy mod very, very useful and fitting that role. Unfortinately you have to chose between accuracy mod and cooling system, giving up some sustained DPS. I also might only dream about stacking projectile speed from T1 and SBB bonus, which to be fair, completely pointless, since 200% projectile speed is enough, but it could be funny. But yeah, there is no way to sacrifice another chunk of sustained dps by not using heat shield at T1. So this makes me think... it would be nice if SBB had built-in accuracy mod, so we could actually equip cooling system in T3. Don't get me wrong, i'm happy with changes and i looking forward to play with this really unique OC again, just my thoughts that it wasn't the only way to buff this thing.

All of them are really solid changes, but imo hipster doesn't need a nerf, hipster is a really balanced OC and you can run through ur ammo really fast and is just fire rate bonus at this point if you don't hit weakpoints

I didn't know about animation cancel for double barrel but I was gonna say the shot spread isn't necessarily a bad thing. You're either using this on ST or a crowd. While the blast wave will kill a lot a large spread will help it deal with crowds beyond that 4 meters. Also, 🚎

i think they still need to change around some of the modes for boomstick becasue the t5 fire is like the only real good one the others are a perk and a bad fear, and the shockwave contasts with blowthrough, which might be fine now with new db, also i think they should make plasma missles just act like seeker rounds and compelty phase through terrarin, maybe like breach cutter does.

JEEZ BROTHERS! These OC changes looks so great! I will finally get to try more of these ! Never even tried carpet bomber yet because of how bad the direct damage reduction looked for the auto canons, and always thought the clean OC for wider aoe and lil aoe damage boost was better, but now i'll definitely give it a try! Same for the drak's shield OC, it looks like it's gonna be top tier now! Thanks GSG for bringing this! Now we can wait a great moment for new OCs to try out, those reworks may give a nice refreshing feel to the build options variety! :D Edit: Congrats Axis for both being able to honestly( and fairly imho) criticize the game's changes although it can make you look like someone who's never satisfied in some people's( fanboys would i dare saying?) eyes, and at the same time being able to apologize and show your satisfaction whenever the devs gets you wrong in a matter of days! SBB’s improvements to Shield Regen Delay mean some damage over time effects are hampered as your shield has an opportunity to start regenerating if it ticks every 2ish seconds, like fire does.

You know I also wish that they'd make the improved focus shot damage overclock better. It's only 50% increased base damage while significantly reducing your ammo.

I wonder how many of these changes were because of feedback and how many were already going to happen. They have said in the past that this actually happens a lot. Bringing the less interesting and weaker overclocks up is great. I find balance is severely overrated. Not in a "I just wanna left click everything with no thought" way. But in a "more interesting and effective options is infinitely better than balanced options". Provided one of the options isn't so strong that its pushing out all the other options, something being a bit overpowered isn't really an issue. Even when its bad, I'd take a game where theres a bunch of interesting options and one happens to be broken OP over the milquetoast perfectly balanced thing a lot of devs go for, especially if the devs balance based exclusively on usage statistics (looking at you Bungie).

I just wanna say that shields are kinda irrelevant once you start getting into the higher difficulties of the game. All enemy attacks one-shot the shield I am pretty sure on Haz 4 onward, so it's almost always better to just opt for the health slot in armor so the OC for the Drak is just still kind of useless knowing that. As long as BSG refuse to rework the health/shield mechanics for the different classes (still baffled why they refuse to do this) literally anything shield related will always be dumpster F tier in the most populated parts of the game. Such a shame because its a cool game mechanic that is just wasted as it's designed now.
