They destroy and rebuild, identically or better. I've experienced this in Hefei. I was so disappointed when they destroyed the temple market in Hefei. But when I cam back in 2014, they had rebuilt everything and it was amazing.

This is what is called"development", modern people likes modern culture. In huge China, every part has its own culture and tradition. A lot of culture has disappeared and a lot of new culture has been created to adapt to the time. In the fast paced society people learn the standard Mandarin to communicate with each other faster. In the world, every country learn English and wear jeans. So in this logic, the West is tearing down the whole world?
