I'm taking one of my favorite Brent Mason licks and seeing it as a source of inspiration. Rather than playing his lick over and over again I can use a device called chord tone sequencing to get new ideas and help develop my own voice on the instrument. Try this with your favorite country licks or try it with any of the licks I cover in 20 Must Know Country Guitar Licks linked above

I doubt I would teach something like that. This channel is more about cultivating creativity rather than mimicking. This is why you rarely see me teach someone else's solo. I can tell you that the way he connects ideas is the way we all do. I cover a lot of those devices in my mastering double stops and mastering flatpicking courses.
