Great ideas! I'm still playing Valheim, too many hours invested now to mention. I find it's a world I like to be in. My First Character is now my Building Character; so I go into Creative with her when I feel like Building. My second character levelled through as normal, and the character I'm having fun with now has stopped at Bronze Age. I'm really enjoying this playthrough. I find the Mountains make me sick (The snow causes motion sickness), and the swam is too dark and scary! I just love this game. happy to plod along and do my own thing.

@@hmac4076 Thank you! I'm in Australia, so my hours are very different. Otherwise, I'd love to play Valheim with other people, I usually solo. :)

You have some great ideas here... just adding content (new biome/new boss) will only get people back until they speedrun that section through and they will bail again. Finding a way to keep your player base coming back with challenges or community events that give special loot (hey, could be as simple as a blueprint for a unique banner that gives the player some bragging rights). As much as I hate to compare games, look at how Destiny has kept their player base even though a lot of their stuff is just re-skins of older stuff. Not wanting paid "seasons" but just something that drives communities instead of just grinding can give something for people to come back and have fun. At the end of the day, a community is what keeps a game alive... not the game itself... I mean.. look at WoW, I cant say I like the game, but its been around forever and people are die hard fans. Keep the good ideas coming dude! Big like and smashing the big red rectangle in solidarity!

Conversely, a spawn point for monsters where you have to destroy an object or a 3-star monster at the center. Though what I think will help the game keep its players would be to have regular new content: every month, add a couple new items and/or enemies, then every 3-6 months add a major component.

@@hmac4076 Totally agree with you there. Even the incremental updates need to be meaningful. Heck, I'd be happy if Haldor got some new merchandise! Or maybe we see some new NPCs to interact with - do simple quests for (like go and get me 100 troll hides or some-such)

Love the ideas, that kind of kind of side progression would be awesome in vanilla. Esp., things you don't really NEED, but are great to have (e.g. additional inventory slots, additional buffs , a 4th food slot maybe?) P.S.: A shame, I didn't see you video for whole 9 days!!! PPS: New talking head format - big like :-)

Good idea.. also all boss drop should have exclusive (spendable) materials or high quality meat like the serpent so that we can fight them over & over again.. cause currently there's no need to re-fight them unless you want trophies & thats's it.. the Serpent has more value than the bosses at end game sadly..

Valheim is NOT DEAD! I saw that video too. I posted a comment on his video. It's in early access. I told him I don't care if there are mass players. I care about the dream the developers have of bringing this game to the world.

Nice ideas👌 the first person is super cool. I think the reason a lot of people are leaving is because there’s not much new to do. The original hype over the game has kinda subsided and now people are going away. Don’t get me wrong this is a super awesome game the graphics are so cool but some people are just getting bored of it🤷‍♂️

I hate limited time events. I want to do what I want when I want and not be forced to grind something else with a clock ticking. But base defense 100% down for.

Why not generally incorporate ides from the epic loot mod? That mod (or others: i'm trying additional skill mods, too);can give a reason to play more / again. Also special events like you mentioned...

I have the following mods added: - SkillInjector (prerequisite for all the skill mods) - MoreSkills (includs: Strength, Vitality, Hunting, Crafting, Sailing, Gathering, Fishing and Taming) - fitnessskill - CookingSkill - CartographySkill I find Strength and Vitality the most important. After quite a lot of playing with them I ajusted the configuration multiple times to balance them out. Some setting are too high, others too low. If you are interested we can communicate on that. Please be aware that those mods (along with some of the below) can cause worse performance the longer you play, considerably dropping framerates. I have found a few settings to help with that so it's currently playable though. Besides those (among others) I also use (topmost I like best): - Valheim Plus - ItemStacks - BetterUI - EquipmentAndQuickslots - Clock - Locator - FloatingItems

100% yes devs should hire some competent people to get stuff into the game. they clearly are just students who had a lucky throw with the viking theme and relaxed gameplay, but no idea how to actually develop a game

all they needed to do was released ONE. >ONE< new building part per month. That's it. A new roof texture. A new type of stone building part. A drawbridge. SOMETHING. ANYTHING. Not go 6+ months without adding a single thing to the game. Things like new biomes and new bosses would be really hard to implement and should be part of a release bundle like hearth and home like they are planning. But they should have thrown the players a bone every once in awhile. No matter how small it would be. New recipes could even work too.

@@hmac4076 lol i just put on a mod that allowed you to rotate any building item along all three axis. And I made a gate act as a drawbridge. In 6 months they couldn't have simply turned the wooden gate item sideways, maybe put a line or two on it so it looked different, and released it as a new building item? On the steam page, they have the dark roof texture and window shutters. Those should have been released since they look done. They have starved the once extremely enthusiastic community to where there were 500k daily players to now barely 20k. Not every update needs to be a new creature, new game mode, new biome, new weapon. Hell, a single new recipe would have at least kept people engaged and kept that fish on the line for a while longer while they worked on bigger stuff. Just a shame, really. Like, would vertical ladders be THAT hard to make and release? Just simply mismanaged at best and at worst makes people feel like they "took the money and ran"

Here is my idea: - Organize builders, say 10. - Each builder starts a new seed and divides up the map into 10 portions they choose using the map generator. - They build structures in their portion of the seed - they save it and pass the world to the next builder - they then take the received saved world, add buildings to their assigned portion of the map - repeat until all builders have added structures to the saved world - once complete you will have 10 seeds with hand built structures across the entire map - put the seeds on Nexus Now the community has 10 seeds with a reason to explore, who knows what you can find!

debug mode and people using it to build what they want acting like they didnt use debug mode, and lack of new content ruined it for me. really was just waiting for new world in reality. they also kinda miss their shot with the pvp. I remember when they had the valheim tourney on twitch, after that a lot of people stopped playing the game. also graphics were kinda bland, just felt like I was waisting time away doing nothing in the game after youve done it all... solution? idk, they kinda messed up letting people use cheater mode and not finishing content before it was released. was a fun game though for the couple hundred hours I put into it a few months ago.

Eh this seems like a double edges sword. Sure it would bring in other ppl, but it would piss off others who can't get it later. especially given the completionist tendencies of those who might pick up the game. I think the best way to improve the game is to make dedicated server hosting built in so it makes multiplayer easier, and so that if someone wants to do a big build it won't make the server unplayable for those who don't have amazing computers/internet speeds. Also the ocean takes up a huge part of the map but there are only 3 things in it, and drops sink immediately which sucks.

True, there are those who will feel "left out", but there are plenty of examples of triple A titles that do season or event "exclusives" that drive those completists back to the game because they know it's a limited time offer (hence the bragging rights). Just needs to be cosmetic, so doesn't really give players a real advantage against others but who would want a totally sweet armor skin that nobody else can get anymore?
