I have had my Vamoose pop top now for 15 months and couldn't be happier. It is not the flashiest with no panoramic zips or multi windows and one colour fabric choice. What it is though is belts 'n' braces and bombproof ! They have been making them for years, it is tried and trusted. It laughs at bad weather and rain! I love the neatness of the internal gas struts and the simple st-steel hinges to the rear ( no stupid bungee needed here to stop catching in the scissor hinges ). I have extended the bed board and now have 2.1 metres bed length in a swb T5.1. They had my van for 2 days and fitted the colour matched pop top, deluxe bed board, diesel heater, Vamoose awning rail and new rear window. I also bought their bespoke internal thermal liner for winter use. And my van had furniture and a RIB bed already installed. Others didn't want to know. Vamoose just got on with it. Decent price too. Highly recommended!

Hi, if van was originally lwb panel van, is it legal to cut the roof and install a pop top? Does it have to be checked by an engineer and inform dvla ? I’d love to do this but really don’t want to cut the roof just to have issues with police etc since all these stupid regulations have come in

Hi Lucas Just like to clarify something with you , this video was taken by one of our customers around 7 years ago , it has obviously been edited as the part where we TRIPLE seal all the frames and paintwork is not shown , I have been building camper vans for almost 30 years and fitting our Vamoose roofs for nearly 12 years , we have installed 1000’s of these and guess what , no rust ! I’d suggest you get your facts in order before you comment on things you have never seen and no nothing about .

Is the overall structure weakened by removing the roof cross beams. It's Difficult to imagine the aluminium frame providing any roll over strength compared to the original ?

looks great, but IMO, y'all should still use the section of the roof you cut off to convert into a removable roof bed.

I noticed it's a ridged roof. How do you fill in the valleys to prevent water leakage? I saw you squeeze some kind of material in there, what was that? And was any other step to the process of making the valley's water tight?

Would it be possible to install a roof like this onto a larger van like a VW Crafter, so that only a part of the roof lifts?

Thats the way it should be a reinforcement frame when the roof braces are cut

Aluminium frame in replace of steel cross members . I would not trust it in aside crash.. crash tested?? I think it's reimo that put in a STEEL sub frame when the original tin roof and cross members are removed.

Did not show in detail the most important: sealing between roof and frame ! The roof is not flat, the frame seems flat. Looked like they put silicone in the gaps, but just in there. Seeing only this, I bet it will leak :-(
