The Wild by the Mile #VanLife Workshop is four days, three nights based out of San Diego. The workshop starts in May with a session each month in the summer. This course is open to both men and women.
I am giving you a hands-on #VanLife experience. You will fill the water, the propane, learn how to check battery levels and electrical wiring, go to the dump tank, learn the difference of BLM land vs city ordinances vs campgrounds. This will include self-defense and safety training. We will even go grocery shopping for the mini fridge and pantry.
I’m teaming with Van-Craft.com to rent their 2004-2006 Sprinters. You can have your own van - for a solo experience- or share one with a fellow classmate - for spacial awareness. The vans sleep four and there’s a rooftop tent.

Hi Liz! I'm celebrating 1 week in my van...lol... I'm starting out with a Dodge Caravan. I hope to have a bigger van like yours in a year. Thought I'd start out with this to see what I really want and need in my bigger van build. Love your channel and always learn a lot from you. Thanks for all you do!

When it gets hot here in SDiego you will be longing for that June gloom. (side note the past two Junes have been wonderful) Living out of a van during those esp. hot days of summer is no joke. You'll be begging for some gloom to cool you down.

Dual swivels make the van feel 5' longer, if you can swallow the $1170 price tag I love alpine mechanisms, only 1/2" tall, second only to $4000 set straight from Mercedes.

Thanks Liz but as I live in Scotland and our roads are narrower than say your average B road Stateside , I've found thru research the likes of me is best in a solo short Sprinter set up, that way we do not hold up other road users, especially moaning motorcyclists (Bikers). Just so you know I am a Scotsman.

For anyone with trays above the sun visors, I'm about to add a cigarette lighter 12v plug on either side, it should be a great out of the way place to charge small items, 12v sockets allow you to upgrade USB chargers as technology advances or that inevitably fail

Is anyone building vans with electric car batteries under the floor and a plug set up like an electric car, fewer solar panels on top of the car of small things and a regular gas engine. Imagine parking over night at an electric charging station and having the solar panel feed into the battery for funsies???

I don’t mean to be a party pooper, but shouldn’t that 20 lbs. propane can be in a vented compartment if not totally bolted to the outside of the vehicle? I know this was the rental and not your personal vehicle. But that is all the more reason that every detail should be correct. I have seen those cans leak. And it doesn’t take much to turn that vehicle into a smaller version of The Hindenburg. Jus’ sayin.

It’ll leak if heat builds up in the van and causes the gas inside to expand, of course, that’s a safety feature. If it’s not topped off, then less chance it’ll release pressure and even then, it’s unlikely that enough gas would accumulate to cause an actual explosion. If it were sitting there weeks on end, that would be a different situation.

Liz- it's hard to impossible to believe you were once a bigtime TV reporter, charming the camera and silver tonguing the viewers. j/k, Shit- it shows. GREAT On-Air personality and way with words: the "I'm Comfortable, Approachable" vibe comes across in all your videos and I know your workshops are going to rock and find a receptive audience. But how about something for the guys.....FROM a woman's perspective? Like, what's it like vanning w/ a woman? What do guys need to know- about women, repair-craft, etc., when sharing this lifestyle?

@theconstruct67 all of your comparisons of what would weigh less are absolutely shit if you want to LIVE FULL TIME in a van also van life has been around for fucking years and not every one who owns a van does the looking cool, hippy, freelancer, bikini, yoga doing life style just for likes and followers cause that's fucking dump their are way better ways to get likes and followers then being a "van lifer" and most of them have videos talking about how hard actually living in a van is and the real costs for their particular lifestyle when living on the road as not every country has the same pricing for things so how about you take your rude NEGATIVE attitude and shove it up your ass
