Plan to fail! I love it and hate it at the same time :) It’s like practicing being rejected and uncomfortable. We tend to avoid discomfort, but if we can embrace it then we are not afraid of it. You miss 100% of the shots you don’t take!

Great tips Vanessa. I want just to bring the attention to the viewers that in order to achieve mastery in something you will need around 10 000h of "deep work/concentration". If you do it for 10 000h but you are constantly distracted and not looking for ways to grow you won't be a true master.

The problem with "mentoring" is that most successful people are also pioneers, and pioneering is, by definition, going where nobody has gone before. LOL (No, I'm not a 'trekie' but that was funny!) When you said it can be a peer, that made a lot of sense, and if that is included in the idea of mentoring, I fully agree. (You are the only one putting that idea out there, by the way! You really are quite awesome!)

First Worst Theory -- the idea that anything you do you will get better at, which means the first time you do anything you should, quite literally, suck at it. :o) If you are not doing what fools call failing, you are not growing. I say fools call it failure because a failure becomes a lesson the moment you learn from it. When you have learned from it, it stops ever having been a failure. Any suffering we experience is correction until you accept the correction; then it becomes tuition.
