I appreciate your explanation and your honesty. I am so glad you took the time to tell me and others why the addition. I really enjoy your experiments. While watching you trying to break that nut loose on your front wheel. I have a small propane torch for heating tough bolts and nuts. It seems to work most of the time. They are very in expensive.

I really enjoyed your video Martin, you’ve probably just helped thousands of people gain the confidence to tackle these jobs by themselves and save a few quid in the process. I particularly like the use of the paintbrush for the copper grease, I usually use my fingers and then get it absolutely everywhere. I also liked the use of the grips to push the piston back as opposed to using a clamp or levering it back with spanners against the dead pad. Just one observation from me: You turned the wheel outwards to expose the calliper and make the job easier but I’m not sure you mentioned it - just I thought I’d call that out in case anybody didn’t notice. Keep it up sir!

I have just had the pleasure of doing mine on the rear. What an pain in the back side. Ordered a set off of Ebay. The front one's were fine, which I fitted a couple of weeks ago. Monday, the wife out at work and me on holiday, so time to do the rear one's. Take the first one apart and put on the new disc. Unfortunately the ones I was sent were 28mm and I needed 20mm. So off to Eurocarparts and bought another rear set. When I got back it started raining. Start again about 17.30 and found my piston wind back tool didn't fit. Back to Eurocarparts to buy a full set of tools. No getting dark, have to get flood light out. So about 9 hours all together, finally finished Tuesday about 12.00 after fitting the other side. And there was me budgeting about 3 hours. Well done in the end and another great video.

I don't have any 3/8th sockets only half inch. It's annoying when car manufacturers use these awkward bolts. Renault and FIAT use awkward sizes aswell so I've alot of different sockets/spanners. I actually bent a half inch breaker bar with a 36 mm socket doing a drive shaft on a scenic haha. It nearly killed me... getting old I guess.

if you change the disc and pads, take the time to drain and put new brake fluid. massive over sight on older cars.

I have never known anyone actually change brake fluid. In my 40+ years of tinkering and watching people tinker, including professionals. I have only ever heard of Quick-Fit type outfits mentioning this. Apparently some inspections even measure the boiling point of the brake fluid. I really dont believe it will degrade as soon as some people think
