Vauxhall Signum Drive Shaft And Dangerous Brakes. In this video, I diagnose a faulty driveshaft on this Vauxhall Signum and whilst I was checking under the wheel arch, I found the flexible rubber brake lines to the calipers were about to burst. That's why I always advise to do your checks in case something like this happens. The procedure will be the same for many Vauxhall Opel cars like the Vectra and the Astra.

top tip from edd china's channel. If you depress the brake pedal and keep it down, after an initial spurt it will close off fluid passage in the master cylinder and stop brake fluid running out when you have the pipe disconnected.

You are not the only one that finds it difficult to read them torque wrench in the end I had to spray over the numbers with black spray paint then sand lightly over it so the paint stayed in the recesses for the numbers it worked ok but god knows why they don’t do somthing like that in the first place

Surprising to learn the copper washers don't come with the new brake lines. For the prices you have to pay, what would copper washers cost to include them. I guess they need to get every penny out of the customers. Thumbs Up on the video. Seems like easy simple repairs, unless you've never done them before...

2 tips for anyone doing a brake flexi. Depress the brake pedal slightly and hold it there with a piece of wood etc, this will give you all day if required without fluid constantly leaking out. when undoing a banjo bolt, give it a few sharp cracks with a hammer first, generally the will loosen off without even using a spanner.

I think GM really lowered the quality of the Vectra C/Signum post facelift. They rust more, the engines are less robust and they've also got less kit.

Honestly I’m disappointed with mine the cap that goes on the master cylinder always leaks no matter how tight you do it up, I purchased one that connects to the air compressor and uses vacuum to bleed the breaks, great bit of kit and only half the price, need an air compressor though which is the only down side.

@@Cavalier_Steve did you try some PTFE tape on the threaded section on the reservoir. I'd be disappointed if I got a leaky one too as brake fluid is nasty stuff. It can be washed off with plenty of plain water without harming the car!

I have a vectra 1.9 2008. I took out my driveshat (passenger side) to replace the gaiter as it was ripped. After putting it back in the inner shaft keeps popping out from the gearbox when driving for no more than 6 miles. I centered the retainer clip and even whacked the shaft in and still pops out whilst driving. This happened few times now. I’m about to give up. Any advise appreciated. Thanks.
