Had horses and chickens. Chickens lived a 50/50 diet of half grain, half proper premium human foods (that they could safely eat of course) on acres. We once left the gate open by accident, and the chickens were so content with the semi large space we had gave them, that they didn’t bother running onto the driveway. They lived healthy old lives, and laid the best eggs. I get vegetarianism I guess. But this whole vegan crap makes no sense, am I supposed to stop breeding more chickens (who have every right to exist on this earth according to these vegans ‘allegedly’) and leave them to fend for themselves? Do I stop eating the eggs which the chicken lays everyday, and cannot sleep comfortably without it being removed? What’s their whole angle?

But I disagree with attacking farmers for it, their just doing their jobs, and most farmers live quite self sustaining and care for their animals very well. (Just buy from local butchers if you want to avoid that, the great ones can even tell you exactly which farm that cut came from). Tho I have a special hatred for those who break onto peoples land, cut their fences and ‘set the animals free’. Do you have any understanding of how domestication works?! We had cattle, sheep, horses and chickens. I was a selective vegetarian as a child. Funnily enough I started eating proper red meat as a adult while being vegan became a trend. I think I’ve subconsciously put the two together and made the choice not to be a nut job with a starved brain.
