I own and rebuild 20year old cars (955 Cayenne, XC90, V70, Berlingo) to a similar level to Christian (except my gearshift gaitors are in better condition!) and have tried to film and edit content but have given up due to the time and energy it takes. I think people forget that this content is free for us to watch and the filming/editing is huge and takes an age behind the scenes. Your content and footage is appreciated.

There are youtubers and desktop mechanics etc who will have no idea what work is and have no real understanding of the time and effort involved. It is the exceptional standard of diagnoses and methodical fault finding (with German engineering solutions) that makes the videos so impressive.

Vera and Christian ignore the haters, you both are gold. A truly inspirational couple.

The compressor on my 1996 landcruiser recently started to get noisy so I had to replace it before shrapnel went through the system. The 1st time I've had to spend money on a repair in 28 years and 300 000 km. I was quite shocked at the poor quality😢👍 Don't let negative comments bother you - some people hate their lives and want to spread their misery The rest of us appreciate and respect what you do.

Not a mechanic, I drive an Opel Insignia and it's serviced by a local garage. Still like watching this channel. Wife never fills the car. It's always empty when I use it.

Always enjoy your content . I was a Ford mechanic here in Canada for many years. I should add I lived in Soest Germany from 1965 to 68 when my father was posted there with the CDN army for NATO.

As a part-time (decidedly average) Land Rover KZfaqr myself, I completely appreciate the effort you must have gone to in order to produce that last recap video (even a 10 minute video takes me hours and hours to produce) - and while I started watching your last video thinking, "I'll just flick through this, I've seen it already" - I ended up watching the whole thing end-to-end and really enjoyed the recap. I just don't understand why anyone would give you grief over your free, and hard, work. It says more about them than it does about you. Christian you're a lucky man. Most folks wives use the car and park it up empty of fuel for us to fill up when we need the car. They obviously think cars have an endless supply of fuel as it keeps topping itself up!

Last week I replaced my lower wishbones front and rear without bridge. I also repaired the EPB including the cables, shoes and gears. Car approved. I was able to do the work because of, among other things, good content from you. I like German solidity. greetings from France.

Firstly, I wanted to say I dont get the hate you absolutely dont deserve it you have build one of the best knowledge basis on this cars/engines out there. Its very simple if you dont want to whatch something don't click on it. Secondly back in 06 my dad got a new discovery 3 tdv6 same colour as veras 9 months later he traded it in for a used P38 Range Rover everyone thought he was mad but nearly 20 years later whatching your videos I see he made the ring choice 😂

Hi Vera & Christian ..... some people are only happy when they're complaining .... I retired a couple of years ago and was a resident engineer at Gaydon working on the JLR MHEV system and yes I do have a Land Rover Defender 90 P300 and it actually looks like a Defender, white roof, blue body and nice white steel wheels with A/T tyres. So far no problems but to be fair I don't really travel that much anymore. I'm pretty sure my local LR service guys now watch your channel so, keep up the great content

The Citroen C6 community brought me here, and I've watched some of your videos, in particular to the diesel V6 rebuild series. Your attention to details is impeccable. There are a few points I would like to raise here, although I am not an A/C mechanic, but it is worthwhile to share so you can do even better job, or add value to your video 1) It is worthwhile to compare the number of fins (per inch) and tubes on both original and aftermarket condenser. The aftermarket product tends to cut cost and has worse heat rejection rate than OE/denso/other bigger brands. Although it is less likely to reach the limit of those inferior aftermarket condenser in Germany/Europe. 2) Not sure if you actually prime the o-ring and groove of A/C line connection with compressor oil or not. If not, applying dielectric grease or nylog(the best) on both item will prolong life longevity and make both less likely to leak. 3) Since the part's are not easy to access and install, it is worthwhile to invest a little bit and buy a take of dry nitrogen to sweep through the A/C line through the service ports, and vent it out to atmosphere pressure, so you will less likely to introduce moisture to the system. 4) You can cut open the receiver drier on the old condenser to see if there is any metal flakes inside the system. It is a good way to tell if the compressor is in good shape or not Btw, I wonder if LR stated the required vacuum levels when pulling vacuum in the system? In some old General Motors service manual, they specify to pull vacuum until 700 microns, although most of the workshop doesn't have digital manifold to tell such vacuum depth. A very small township of less then 4,000 residents involved with vintage cars (1929 Chevrolet Tourer and 1963 Holden Special) sedan both Australian made since a very early age. Studying electrical engineering leaves a footprint of knowledge. However, loosing my dear very much love wife Therese, to Cancer some four years ago has somewhat lessened my approach of self home repairs. Moreover, Therese was very much likened too Vera. I replaced my AC Condenser few years ago. Used same method but it was a tighter fit! Or perhaps my 05 D3 was a bit more seized than Vera’s restored D3. As for last week’s episode- it was great. Ignore the haters.

As a Land Rover owner, I can say that you're never going to be out of ideas and content. People who are running a Japanese brand 4x4 channel turn their channel into a cooking show after 2 weeks. I don't like cooking shows at all. I know since I was child how to cook sausages on a grill...

I normally have my Germanic Sunday morning. Trip to Lidl's and then watch your videos. Sorry for being late. Had to work on my Land Cruiser this weekend. Yes, you do have to do repairs on Toyota's. You will never run out of content because Christian has the mind of an engineer. I watch to learn. Even the simple things like using pond liner to protect the drive. Simple and cheap. Oh Christian, I know you miss your Channellocks and they probable mean something because they remind you of your time in America but buy yourself a pair of 10" 250mm Knipex Cobra's. I can't tell you how good they are.

I must confess,I didn't watch your last video but I would never post bad comments. When you replaced the condenser on Vera's discovery in the video you said it was under vacuum which is unusual, normally it would have a standing charge of nitrogen and a bit of 134a. As for the O rings,car manufacturers have a habit of fitting odd ball sizes which you can only get from them.how do I know this,my Skoda fabia had a leak on the liquid line and the O ring in the snap connector was worn.bought a green O ring kit off Amazon and not a single O ring was the correct size.ended up buying the service kit for the connector which was over 100 euros just to get the O ring. Keep the videos coming as they are very entertaining.

I only started watching you guys recently, I drive a Defender L663 75th addition and I already want a Disco 3, my Dad was a LR mechanic for 15 years, always complaining about the disco 3, he wa born in 48 that’s why I got the 75th. Anyway back to you guys, love what you do, you prob wont get to my message, however you keep me well entertained, especially the side commensts which rest assure I always get ;)

Christian and Vera, you are the best in my view with specific and very helpful advice and content. Don’t stop what you’re doing one of the best LR3/Discovery 3 channels on the internet. I only wish you also had a 2005-2009 LR3 V8 for me in the US so I could learn more about my specific engine.
