This is great. Unlike most VS videos this one had me guessing throughout and a fight between the two would feel more like a fight between genuine space wizards than the telekinetically spiced up saber fights that are the norm. I also liked how you outlined the difference between reasonable assumptions and far-reaching speculations.

This is absolutely brilliant. Kuro and Koon are both among my most favorite characters, and you have done them an incredible justice here. Ultimately, I see it as Kuro's win regardless of environment, but the two of them have such brilliant views on the Force and the Universe that I'd be more interested in seeing a conversation between them. And THAT is what you've created here--a true conversation between these two beings, and a compelling argument for the supremacy of the Jedi Order itself. Aesthetically, the video was beautiful, and your narration adds so much. The ability you have is to tell Koon's and Kuro's stories, and especially given that Koon will be leaving his gloves in the ring here, this is the greatest sendoff I could imagine.

Holy crap this was amazing, as soon as you said " there will always be air" and the music started playing in full force i was lost in a world of freedom and wonder as everything i love about star wars and avatar combined into one and i was brought to tears by the beauty of it all. And for that GreyJedi I humbly and wholeheartedly thank you for the release of this video.

Anya Kuro is one my favoutite EU characters, I liked how she used Sith techniques when teaching her students so that they would be resilient enough to face anything as Sith are far more deadily than the prequel era Jedi.

I've been busy for the past few days and as such, unable to watch it, but today I finally got to sit down and watch this. Well worth the wait. An'ya Kuro is the true Jedi Dark Horse. I always love seeing esoteric Force Abilities. Too often in Star Wars, Force abilities are relegated to telekinesis and lightning.

Very well done, dude! Another triumph! For a Kel Dor over 70, Plo Koon appears to be above average in constitution and muscular development. Must be due to his time as a Jedi Guardian. He's one of the few Jedi to have defeated Yoda in a duel. It wasn't just Vader's superior strength and stamina that had won against her. It was also his long experience of hunting Jedi and strategic use of the dark side, coupled with the weight of the fallen tree. That thing is _huge!_ I understand your reasons for postponing the Versus vid on Sharad Hett. Just wish I knew who his opponent is... While we're on the subject, I have seen him use a reverse Shien grip. He's got a good improvised use of Jar'Kai. He could just as easily have been adept at mounted lightsaber combat, even if he didn't use the lightsaber while riding that bantha. And he can certainly switch hands with saber and gaderffii, showing his ambidexterity.

I honestly can't agree or disagree only say that if there was a match up where there isn't any clear winner despite 1H+ of analysis on screen and presumably several days of meditation on it curo and Koon are so even that I'd call 50/50 no likely winner.

Can you do a vs with Adi Gallia?

Listened to this matchup at work, shame I could not comment until now. It was a wonderful listen and helps the day go by. Wow. This matchup at first didn't really interest me, but then something occurred to me. This is a matchup of the "Jedi Guardians" who are in reality, the Jedi Sentinels of their era. There is something about your smooth and calm delivery style that I really enjoy. This is further supported by your music choice. Antoine and Jensaarai1 feel more energetic compared to your videos, but I find yours more enjoyable when I rewatch the Council's content. 50:55-59:12 is nothing short of brilliant. Using the 4 elements of Avatar to further elaborate the differences between Kuro and Koon is brilliant. In a box or empty arena, I agree with your verdict. But, put these 2 in 100 random environments (even if none of them have plant life), then the odds shift into Kuro's favor. Kuro has been my favorite example of someone who has what I call "hax" force abilities. Your videos (especially this one), perfectly balance reasonable assumptions and far-reaching speculations and I really enjoyed this one a lot. This may be my favorite video from you so far Matt, keep up the great work. Your new microphone sounds really good, and I absolutely understand why you'd want to record the Sharad Hett video with it. This video does bring up an interesting discussion. When deciding the verdict of a hypothetical matchup like this, is it better to assume that this battle would take place in a sparring arena, the "White Room" approach, or consider the various different circumstances that the battle could take place under? Personally, I'm not a fan of the White Room approach. It is often touted as the "most neutral option," but I'm not entirely sure that's the case. As you pointed out in this video, An'ya Kuro's effectiveness would drop drastically in such a situation, as would the abilities of individuals like Obi-Wan Kenobi, Spymaster Tholme, Shaak Ti, and to a lesser extent Dooku. Meanwhile an individual like Savage Opress, General Grievous, Mace Windu, or Darth Krayt would likely be at a massive advantage in such circumstances. They're such offensive juggernauts that, with no way to gain the strategic/tactical advantage, you're just forcdd to deal with it. So can this White Room/Sparring Arena really be called neutral ground? It's an interesting thought, and I'd be interested in seeing the thoughts of both you Matt, and the other people in these comments. Hopefully we can get an interesting discussion out of this, or at least we can try to stay civil.

I don’t know how you impress me each time. This video is provable my favourite versus video in a long time. I completely agree on the analysis, though I do think it is a bit unfair for the Dark Woman to be put against someone as powerful as Plo Koon on completely neutral ground. I suggest Hypori as a battleground. Quick question can you consider using Yaddle in a video? Maybe against Savage Oppress, Adi Gallia or even Cin Drallig? She seems like an interesting character with enough feats to gage her overall abilities

29:44, didn't she actually lose primarily because she had a tree dropped on top of her? XD 33:08, while you have a point obviously that Kuro's more limited stamina would be a factor, considered she lasted as long as she did against a superior opponent than Plo Koon in Vader circa the timeframe of ANH, I don't exactly see it being quite as big of a disadvantage against her in her fight with Plo as you do. That said, I don't exactly disagree with you declaring Plo Koon as the superior martial artist/duelist, especially since you made it a point to say how close you think it'd be. I think Kuro shines more when she has ALL her tricks at her disposal than just her lightsaber, even though she is, as you made it clear, a formidable duelist in her own right. I completely agree with your ultimate verdict, especially given the stipulation that the scenario is they're fighting on neutral ground, and that, if not for that element, Kuro would hold the probable advantage. Glad you're back, man. Your content has always been the golden-standard IMO for these Star Wars versus videos.

Can you make an old force sensitive fight night with Rahm Kota and Ki adi mundi vs Plo Koon and Taron Malicos. Its inspiring to see that its not just the young who can be in wars but old experienced Jedi like these 4 jedi masters. I wish we had old experienced jedi in movies and not these young inexperienced onse like Anakin, Luke and Rey who are all in their 20s and Its cool and fun to see the perspective of them figuring out their life in war but it would be fun if we could see experienced older people have fun on the big screen, people who have been through stuff and have figured out everything in their life and now need to take on a new challenge.

I haven’t watched it yet, but my prediction is for Plo Koon narrowly.
