I have a question. When two wheels are on grass, those two wheels should get way less traction than those on the other side - grass cannot possibly provide same friction as the tarmac. If this is the case, how come the car doesn't immediately spin out of the track? Can anybody explain this? TIA

@@missilemahmood these cars have plenty of downforce, so they stick to the ground. Of course theres less grip, but the car doesnt accelerate too much and because its already nearly straight, theres not much lateral force. In a fast corner, he would spin out

Carlos Andres Medrano by far the fastest car?? RB on pole by less than 0.5s and probably the same gap in races. RB's 'domination era' saw wins also by Ferrari, Mclaren, Mercedes, Lotus on pure pace. Merc fastest in hybrid era 2014 till 2016 over 1sec quicker than the rest and only lost races due to reliability or drivers crashing into each other never on pure pace. People have short term memory and love to twist the past. Hamilton or Rosberg fan i presume?

The fastest car yes but by far? Not compared to the Merc dominance. Look at RB's qualifying compared to other teams. 0.5s quicker at best? Mercs were consistantly 0.5s - 1s quicker than the rest. In 2014 even over 1s at certain tracks! RB dominated yes but the gap was small enough that 4 other teams were able to win races on merit and pace from RB. In the Merc era the only time Merc lost races was due to reliability or crash.

@@byMyXzx1 Wdym? Vettel's advantage with his extremely aggressive racing line (enabled by RB's great rear end stability) only really does its magic in qualy and racing with huge gaps. It's not like nowadays where the best car always had the highest top speed, passing others like a breeze. In fact, Vettel lacked straight line speed, and only compensated by pushing those aggressive lines (that he can't use when racing closely). Wheel to wheel back then was fully skills.

I saw those Red Bull races in 2010's and can say that after some time we can confirm that Vettel was not that great. Daniel Ricciardo, Charles Leclerc and his kast races at Aston Martin with a Lance Stroll right behind his pace can demonstrate that Vettel championships, just as much as Hamilton's championships at Mercedes only came from the car. Vettel with hus pure talents can achieve one championship yes, but those four of champuonships are from the Red Bull car

In fact .. Seb did the same in Spanish GP and he did overtake Bottas successfully .. IT'S ALL ABOUT THE DRIVER .

Well, he had a better car. Alonso's car was slower than Lewis' McLaren and he still managed to make great trouble to Vettel. IMHO, Alonso was the best driver of that era. Vettel was 2nd best. LH was........ 4th :)

That was Vettel who didn't have 3 little children. When you have 1 child, hormonal changes makes you a lesser athlete. With 3 children, it's a miracle you can even compete. Which is probably the reason why LH never married or had children. Probably an advice from his handlers.

He broke his leg in British GP, because of which he couldn't participate in many races. He was struggling against drivers that were normally much slower than him. He wasn't the real MSC we got used to. Vettel was also holding his ground with 1 child. With 2 small children he was still relatively ok. But when the 3rd came, it was too much even for him.

I completely agree with you all, but we always forget that Massa drove like shit after his accident. Alonso did special things with his car but Massa really sucked back then. It made Alonso look even better than he actually had been.

Allure Lane Yeah the Mclarens opted for a short gearing, but Button managed to overtake him on his first attempt and showed much greater committment - it wasn't exactly the best race for Hamilton...on lap 16 he got reovertaken immediately and the other overtake was after he pitted. And for the defensive moves Michael did - they were quite on the limit but not over it. Everything he did was allowed - defending prior to a corner and going back to the racing line, knowing when a corner was his when in front and so on...Lewis got into a gap that was always going to close. If you don't mind, you can also watch Hamilton's post race interview where he said that he actually enjoyed the battle and didn't have anything to complain about.

Damilola Adeniji Alonso sold out and went to Mclaren for 40million a year. He could have stayed at Ferrari and be better for it. Don't feel sorry for his bad decision

_ TL;DR_ I believe he went to Maclaren back when it was Maclaren-Mercedes and he stayed with the team when Mercedes started being a manufacturer again and Maclaren had no other choice than Honda to power their cars

@Apinasmoothie Honda engines have been getting better with every race...However, I do not think they will be able to provide a really competetive engine until 2018...Perhaps they'l make something on par with Renault one, but not better, pretty sure of that. After all, they were supposed to start supplying McLaren in 2017 but instead had to create an engine in a little over a year.
