Hi. I used BeenVerified to check into a man I met in real life and not an online, which turned out to be just as dangerous. After watching enough of these videos, things this man said (when we were together in person) didn’t feel right so I signed up and ran a check. Turns out he was a convicted violent felon in multiple states, including sex crimes. Just wanted you to know that you’re doing good work and even people you meet in person should be validated.

Any time someone calls you "Queen" via text, there's a 99% chance that he's Nigerian.

If someone starts 'love bombing' you straight away, he's either a scammer or a Narcissist, run for your life.

Dating in your teens: I hope he has a car Dating in your 20's: I hope he has a job Dating in your 30's: I hope he's mentally stable Dating 40's and up: I hope he's a real person I'm becoming so okay with the idea of being a cute little old maid

People in real life don’t talk like the characters in a Hollywood rom-com

Imagine your employer, a multi national oil company, forces you to use your own money to hire an employee to replace you. And that payment is made by your internet girlfriend sent to the replacement employee's wife. Why do these scammed people think this is normal.

She needs to find a new therapist. That was terrible advice. She is a prime target for scammers. And if her therapist is going to give people that kind of advice it needs to be followed up with "Watch out for scammers, here are some videos to tell you the warning signs." People who've been out of the dating game for a while don't necessarily know about catfish and scammers. I only learned about all this because I was thinking about joining and app and Googled dating stories to get an idea which apps were more successful and came across all these scammer stories.

I've binge watched a bunch of these videos and this is the 1st time one of the people a victim was interacting with turned out to be real.

Even though I am only 5 mins into the video, I can definitely say James is obviously a scammer. His key words being " My Queen" along with his empty promises of a comfy life, love and companionship. To all the older ladies that get scammed, please avoid dating apps period, if you must be on, ignore needy men (such a turn off), military men, men stuck at oil rigs (watch dr. Phil), men with school age children, handsome men ( look yourself in the mirror and be honest if he is in your league or not). If you are going to pay someone just hire a handsome professional that will dust off the spider web and walk away without ruining your life.

This lady is not stupid so she should be more careful. Anytime anyone calls you QWEEN, he’s Nigerian. Any time he has emergencies and needs money he’s a scammer. She is going on looks in the men she talks to. A lady I worked with met a man and he was younger and very handsome, a 9. She was short, overweight, and about a 5 in looks. When she told me about him, I wondered to myself what he was doing with her, but said nothing. A couple of weeks later I asked how her love affair was going. She just shrugged and said oh he’s gone. Much later she told me he called her from jail to come bail him out that he was arrested by mistake. She had already “loaned” him money until he got paid. After checking on him, he had no job, was in and out of jail and lived off women by getting “loans”. Best to check them out first and when the age is much younger than you and he’s a 10 and you’re a 4, beware!

Real or not, this is so abusive. Why would they associate all the demands as "love." Something is broken if you can fall for someone like that.

As soon as they ask for money the first time, ask them why at their age that they do not have ANY money put aside for expenses! Do they not even have one friend or family to ask instead of asking you? I'd be concerned about having a relationship with someone who does not know how to handle his money responsibly.

Her therapist was negligent. Encouraging her to find someone online is not a bad idea, but all he had to say is for her to be aware of scammers. Sounds like he wanted this for her. For sure she ain't too switched on, and that can't be helped much, but a few words of advise would have prevented all this. Mature guys that good looking are sleeping with women half their age. They don't need to go online for 50 plus women. Not trying to sound mean, but that's the way it is. Ladies, think carefully. She only focussed on looks. There is more to people than just looks.

A hospital isn’t going to refuse to do a life saving surgery because the copay hasn’t been paid. When I broke my hip and when I had a near fatal asthma attack, I was treated even though I couldn’t pay AT ALL.

Sometimes I think the scammers earn their money, the hours, days, weeks, months of shallow talk with most ' victims ' they deserve decent renumeration.
