This just oozes quality. I've read many accounts of the tolerances staying tight for 20+ years. I kind of prefer the one without the without the one hand opening tabs.

I admire the ingenuity necessary to create a multi-tool such as this Victorinox or a Leatherman. Ditto for bicycle multi-tools like those offered by Topeak, Park Tool, Crank Bros and the like. They’re compact and offer a variety of implements. But my admiration ends there. To me, they are the epitome of compromise, a ‘Jack of all trades but a master of none’. If you’re caught short and happen to have a multi-tool ‘solution’ close at hand, then what’s not to like? ‘’Any port in a storm’, as the saying goes. Yes, they’re clever as hell, but I find them cumbersome and fiddly as hell and not particularly comfortable to use. But as the old lady said when she kissed the cow…..’Every man to his own liking’. Good clip, by the way…..👍

I had one of the old Swiss Tool's a couple of years ago. I think it was the MX. It was really well made and I liked it a lot, right up until I lost it. I had bought it used in the first place and I have several Letherman tools so I never replaced it. Everyone know the high quality of Victorinox if I am every in the market for another multitool I will defianly give this a look.

The eyeglass screwdriver will fit in the bit holder and in the ends of the bit wrench for easier use. I don't carry multi tools, except a cheap Gerber for work. I carry Knipex Cobra or Pliers Wrench in the nylon Victorinox 111mm knife pouch along with the tiny Channellock adjustable wrench...fits perfectly...so I put a 111mm Victorinox in the pouch with the bit wrench set. Just a heads up on the eyeglass screwdriver.

I'm glad you got one of these. After about 7 years of having my supertool 300 I've been looking at these for a change. I've always had Leatherman and think it's time for a switch. I love my victorinox Swiss army knives so I'm guessing I'd enjoy this. I look forward to hearing your thoughts as you use it. Great video Jack 👍

Congrats on getting a new Vitorinox, I'll still stick with my leatherman surge though add it has certain features that I can't do without. Thanks for the look see and keep making sharp things fun and enjoyable

I owned Leatherman tools for years. Retired them all for the Swisstool X.

3:14 The shape of this "plus" pouch is nice, I got the black one separately (4.0833.L) and for some reason the cap / cover and velcro goes all the way to the bottom, making it look huge and harder / noisier to open. Not a fan of that, and it dooesn't look like that in most pictures, it usually is shown like this brown one, with shorter flip cover. Material seems same good quality on that one too thou.
