Fill a frame with NO EDGES in Adobe Premiere Pro
It's very common for users to want to fill the whole frame with a still image or video in a Timeline. This tutorial will show you how to a fill to frame and also why it's not an option in Adobe Premiere Pro.

thanks, I have issues getting recordings at my monitor's aspect ratio and needed to have a few dozen clips fill the screen.
@VideoRevealed

I'm assuming your screen is 16 X 9 so the frame you place the images into must also be the same aspect ratio. Other then that, I have no suggestions.

Thanks for this video Mate I've been doing family video / photo montages, and used scale to frame size by accident for photos and wondered how to get the black bars off. This is a great help and a clear and concise explanation :))

It's a fun lens, and you have to get used to manually switching the aperture though, but sometimes that gives you some happy accidents. I'm amazed that the Blackmagic Cinema Camera works with it as it's such a finicky camera.

What buttons are you using to change the size when you click on scale?
@VideoRevealed

I actually tell you in the tutorial. It's the UP and DOWN arrows after you select the scale value.

is there a way to do this without percentages but just type in the pixel size?
@VideoRevealed

Unfortunately no, the scale property is the only way to scale the video.

another great tutorial. Why Rendering slide Images take soooo Long than Videos? Can u Show us tips and tricks? Thanks
@VideoRevealed
@VideoRevealed 7 жыл бұрын
Are you talking about images scanned from slides or images that have a "sliding" animation? And when you say "rendering" do you mean exporting or rendering on the Timeline? You shouldn't have to render anything, just export to create your final video. Are the images a very large frame size, (5000 pixels for example)?

Sir, thank for ur best explanation that i ever heard from others. by the way, i have a problem of export result, i got a small frame instead of full screen that i hope for, pls let me know whats wrong with the setting. i try with menu edit - preferance - media - default media scalling and i choose - set to frame size, it just only the timeline was full screen, but while i did exported, the result was like small frame in the black box, hopefully u could support my problem, thanks

Where is the degrade in image quality happening in set vs scale? Is it due to a premiere flaw to not handle both scenarios the same way?
@VideoRevealed
@VideoRevealed 7 жыл бұрын
It's not a flaw, it's designed that way. Scale to Frame Size reduces system resources if the user does not need to further scale the clip. If they do need to scale the clip, then they should use Set to Frame Size and/or just change the scale in the Effects Control Panel.

Are the audio meters on each individual track a new thing from a recent update or can they be toggled on and off in older versions? I've noticed them in some of your other videos too. Thanks Colin!
@VideoRevealed

The track audio meters were added in a previous version of Creative Cloud but not enabled, now they are on by default.

But WHY can't you set to fill automatically in Premiere?? It's literally a couple of clicks in freaking Sony Vegas! Seems scary just to eyeball it if you want the vertical edges to line up exactly...
